It’s either do or die. You’ll have one chance. Better make it good. You move up the room, pretending to inspect the walls. Walfreid hasn’t seen your stake yet. You’ll jab it at him then try to run past.

You dash at the vampire, and raise your stake. You jab at him, but your stake connects with air. A cold hand twists the stake out of your hand and brings it down in your back.. You look down. The sharpened point is protruding from your chest. You fall to the floor. A cold feeling spreads through your body. Walfreid looks down at you, licking blood from his fingers. “Such a vaste.”
