The two of you leave the inn, just outside of the wall and start off down a small path straight into the woods. By the map the noble gave you, it should take a half an hour to get there.
You think of when you met Malik, a couple months ago. The two of you hired to take out a bandit gang. You worked particularly well together, so you decided to keep working together. Malik hacks almost all of his enemies to pieces, where you sometimes choose...alternate means of defeating your opponents.
Before long you see a small, wispy smoke trail coming from the trees ahead. Malik puts one hand over his shoulder to ready his blade. You leave your blade at your side. You don't draw it in every fight. The two of you walk right into the camp.
You count four. They scramble to their feet and grab their weapons. The first one charges at you, sword raised high. Malik moves to intercept, grabbing his sword and unsheathing it, following with a downward arc.
The goblin doesn't make it within 5 steps from you before falling the the ground in two pieces. Malik's swing cleaved him from his neck to his opposite hip. A smaller goblin starts to run into the forest and Malik gives chase.
You have two goblins in front of you. One skinny and tall for his kind, wielding two daggers. The other has a medium sized two handed ax. You decide to use the majority of your available magic to kill one of them quickly.
