Janet didn't take it well - and she made no promises to keep your secret safe with her. Damn, you felt like a major asshole. Maybe you should have called a cab that night but the thought never crossed your mind as you entered your car - you are back home. The unit is dark; you think Maxwell must be out somewhere. You silently make your way to your room, sullenly sinking with every second.
It's a cozy little place. There isn't much personality to it: some posters, a queen-sized bed, an armoire and that is about it. But this is your private sanctuary and it is a place you can always enjoy to yourself. You turn on the light and notice Maxwell, your roommate, asleep on the right side of your bed. You don't have any time for this and you definitely didn't have time for Max. You flop down on your bed.
