Go back home?
From Create Your Own Story
Well after all you have done today its time to head back home while you have enjoyed being out on the town for once you think back to your own bed and T.v. While you don't think of yourself as a slug you can only go on for so long before you need to take a break and head home. The only reason you left your apartment in the first place was from plain paranoia but thinking back on it you were over reacting even before you knew exactly what Nya was and if anyone was trying to find her it would be hard to see her face let alone her tail or or ears and if anyone tried to so much as touch her you would intercept long before that.
"Come on, I'll take you back to my place, I think I've seen enough of the city for one day." Your words graze over Nya's thoughts with her attention fixated more on the people and buildings than you.
It wasn't too much of a walk, after leaving from the clothing store you passed by the motel you stayed at the night before until you reach the street where your place is at- or was. Turning the corner your faced with a sight that caused you to freeze in your stance; not paying much attention Nya's continues to move forward till she stumbles backwards still caught in your grip. Turning to face you with puzzled eyes she follows your trance like eyes till they fall upon a what remains of a fire torn building
"Nya?" Her voice low and confused of what worried you so much.
"It's gone...." You mumbled through the shock.
Slowly regaining your senses you make your way across the street towards the yellow police tape and fire truck.
"Sir, please stay back. There is a investigation under the way-" The officer spoke before you cut him off.
"I live here... lived here. What happened?" You question as your voice shakes slightly; all the while Nya's attention seems to be wander every which direction.
"I'm sorry sir. There was a fire here late last night. We're not sure just what started it. We have teams going across the scene to see if it was arson but so far nothing as come up." The officer speaks but your mind is so caught up that you barely here him all the way through.
"Ri- right...." Releasing Nya from your grip you stumble over to the sidewalk and collapse on the curb. You didn't have much in the world but everything you did was in your apartment, a wave of depression falls over you with worries bombarding you at every angle. Where will you go? Where will you sleep? What about all your stuff? What about-. A faint pressure on your shoulder breaks your though as you look up to see Nya standing above you, her eyes filled with concern.
While your still physically upset you give her a small smile from whatever joy you manage to muster. Not convinced of the joy you display Nya sits down next to you and takes a hold of you arm. It's a bitter sweet moment; aside from those you work with you don't have anyone that cares anything for you, your parents died years ago and you were a single child, Nya is the only one you really have... and you've known her less than a day.
"Thank you Nya...."
Some time passes while the officer asks you questions of where you were last night, and while you tell him what you remember your story isn't 100% true. Of course you don't mention Nya and how she was attacked given her animal like parts. Thanking you for your help the officer gives you his number and number in case anything else comes to mind or there is a break in the investigation. At the end of it all he offers to give you a ride but having no one to call for aid you decline the offer. Going back to his duties you remain on the curb with Nya will clinging to your side like a magnet.
"Well Nya, what do we do now?" You question her though you might as well be talking to a wall knowing she won't respond but to your surprise Nya gives your arm a small hug and manages to pull you on your feet.
"What is it?" You question her again but without speaking she guides you down the street till you arrive at the motel you stayed the night before.
"Nya, Nya!" She points at the building with an elevated voice.
"Oh Nya...." You say with disdain but then again, home is were you make it, even if its a shitty motel.
For the night you decide to stay here once again and without anywhere else to go its the best option you have.
Nya lounges on the bed as she watches the T.v with interest of some kids show where they go on adventures and solve mysterious; you know its crap but she seems really into it even trying to sing along with the songs that play but in the end it all sounds like Ny, Ny, Nya! Nya! You do smirk at her amused display but your head is still heavy with grief.
Do you:
