Try take the gun away

You try something you saw on T.V to take the gun. fortunately it worked and you are able to grab the barrel of the gun. accomplishing this you then twist it 180 degrees, the gun falls to floor. Well it sort of worked. You grab the man pushing him to the ground trying pin him but he forces you off; you land on the ground and see him charging at you with a knife. desperate you look around for anything to defend yourself with and then you see the gun next to you. You pick it up and point it towards him expecting him too stop but he doesn't he just keeps charging at you. You close your eyes and fire. You sit there waiting for something but nothing happened so you decide to open your eyes and see the man on floor holding his leg just a few feet from you. You pick up his knife and place it in your pocket. After this you notice that the man is in serious pain but not dead.
