"I was just going to do some reading, if you don't mind"

"Not at all, it's quiet." She goes off into the kitchen to do ....something. You don't ask what, thinking the best way to get out of this awkwardness is to just get through the day with little interaction. You know she's been okay with what you did earlier in the day, but you get the feeling that she's just playing along, and that all it takes is one small mistake and the whole game is up.

You grab your D&D book and some graph paper and set up on the coffee table in the living room. There's a new campaign with your friends, and that means a new character. You don't know quite what you want to do yet, so you're looking through all of the options, making a bunch of notes and potential ideas off on your pad of paper.

After a while of getting a bit sucked into it, you hear Jenna's voice and see she sat right next to you without you even noticing. "Good to see I'm not your only fantasy". You jump a little bit at the surprise, and than get annoyed at her making fun. Just like any other popular kid, she doesn't get it and doesn't care.

"Funny." You say, obviously sarcastic

"Deserved" she replies in exchange. "So what is all of this anyway that you guys get so into?"

You don't know if she's really interested or not, but she's asking more about it than anyone else, so at the least she's not going to poke fun.

"You make a character that has different abilities and powers, and you get together with some allies and act as those characters on adventure"

"So you pretend to be in Lord of the Rings?"

It's an oversimplified comparison, but if that's what works, go with it. "Basically that, ya" you reply

"Sounds interesting if you're big on that stuff" Jenna responds, still not really indicating anything

"Are you?" You ask inquisitively

"Ya, I've read those books a few times"

Score! Beauty cheerleader chick that with a hidden nerd alter-ego. Maybe you can see how far this goes
