The street below you is pretty appealing, overcoming your fear of heights you look at the view. The city is under siege, fires have spread to various neighbors. Holding tight to the border of the window you get out of the corridor into the cold dark night. The wind is pretty strong outside an eleventh floor, you would have never guessed. Once or twice you almost fall but eventually you crawl into your apartment.
The lights are off and you decide to keep it that way. The TV and the radio say nothing of the events in Monroeville.
You hide in darkness for long hours, trying not too watch outside your window. Your hear noises coming from Felix' apartment, and you're glad you didn't go in there. Eventually you fall asleep in front of the TV.
You wake up covered in cold sweat. You've just had a terrible nightmare but your mind refuses to tell what it was about. You vaguely remember a hemmer hitting on your head.
That's when you hear it.
Somebody is knocking at your door. It's still dark outside and you really don't want to open. The knocking goes on for a moment before stopping. You're shivering out of cold and fear so you go get a blanket. As you come back in the living room you hear a key noise from your door.
"Shit, I should have barricaded myself" you tell yourself rushing to block the door before the creature behind it can open it. You fall on the door the moment it starts opening. You try to engage the lock but a powerful thrust throws you through the room.
Two shadows are standing in the corridor. A hand reaches for the light.
The black guy from the Pub and Shannon, your boss' daughter, are staring at you.
"We found those in your bag and we though it would be nice to bring them back to you, why don't you come and give us a thanks kiss, we've come a long way just to bring you your keys." Your former friend tells you with a smile hiding little of the two new fangs falling from her upper jaw.
You close your eyes knowing you have no chance of escape and that the best alternative is to give in so you won't suffer much.
They ravage your body for a few hours before feeding you their blood.
When you wake up as a vampire the world has changed for ever but you like that.
