You look out the window again, seeing the sun still hiding behind the trees on the horizon, you decides it's best just to go back to sleep. You can deal with anything when more when the sun comes up. You lay you head down, and quickly drift off to sleep.

You're awaken by frantic beating on the door. Opening your eyes with shock you look around quickly, trying to get your bearings. The sun is only slightly higher in the sky, you estimate you've been asleep for an hour or so. You reach in your nightstand drawer and pull out your Glock 21. What's next?

You decide you should see what all the trouble is as you flip open your phone playing the last voice message you put the phone to your ear. You hear Chris' voice.

"Matt man, if you're getting this you need to move your ass man. Shit going south, and we need to get the hell outta here. I'll try, and check on you most of the civillians already left. The army is trying to evacuate people outta Detroit. We need to get there if we wanna get on an evac chopper."

You get up walking around the bedroom trying to wake up, as you decide what to do next.

You decide you should go take a shower before you do anything getting up out of bed you stagger over to the bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom, and hit the light switch. "Shit" you mutter to yourself. Power is out. You flick the switch a couple more time to make sure. Hoping it might be the bulb you reach around the wall to hit a light switch in the bedroom, nothing. You imagine the person who called must be some other Deputy who must want you to come direct traffic, or something in the small nearby town. Too bad for him. Checking T.V is out of the question you contemplate just going back to bed not much else you can do at this hour.

Isn't working. Well huh, the I guess a shower is out of the question. You assume the power must be out, some other Deputy must want you to come direct traffic, or something in the small nearby town. Too bad for him. You contemplate just going back to bed not much else you can do at this hour.

You eyes shoot open as you hear you cell phone ringing on the nightstand next to your head. Groggily you grab it, another deputy is calling you. Before you can answer, it goes to voice mail. Looking about the room you sit up on your bed, rubbing the sleep from your eyes you plan on what to do next. Your phone has 10 new voice messages, someone really wanted to get a hold of you. Looking out your window the sun is just barely visible on the horizon, lighting the sky ablaze with a pink inferno. You look about the room your trained night eye giving you the ability to see in the dark, where most couldn't.

Your parents spared no expense on your happiness. This led to you being quite spoiled, to the point you've adopted a slightly arrogant attitude. The troubles of the world are a foreign concept to you, as after you completed your education at private school abroad, spent most of your time partying. You spent a lot of time in Miami, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles attending clubs during the night, and spending the days with some handsome boy. But eventually you developed a drug problem, and this led to rehab. More importantly the most expensive Rehab your father could find which landed you in Palm Springs, Florida.

When you turned 18 you decided to enlist, but chose to enlist in the Army as opposed to following either of your parents. After basic you were scheduled to be sent overseas, but instead were sent to the capital, Washington D.C, under unknown circumstances. You expect that it was nothing, save for more training, or some exercises.

You are Matthew Ferris, a strong physically fit man. You are of average height with green eyes, and brown hair. You are 25 years of age. You stand at 6'2" and weigh 195lbs. You're Caucasian. Here you will pick your origin, how you were raised, and where you will start your story.

You were born, and raised in northern Michigan, and as far back as you can remember you have been hunting, and fishing. Your father taught you everything you know about the outdoors, and you've naturally adapted to the lifestyle. Sitting still, and staying quiet for long periods of time come naturally to you, and you're an excellent shot. You are skilled at tracking, and living off the land. Although you've never put those skills to test in a survival situation. You currently live in downstate Michigan. 2 hour car ride from Detroit, but still far too close for your liking. You work as a Deputy Sheriff in the employ of the county. You own several guns, and are well trained in their use. You're a no nonsense man, liking to stick straight to the point, you're not very trusting of strangers, and you make make friends slowly. You live alone.
