You are an Uchiha but when the Uchiha clan massacre was in place you hid as your parents told you to. You went to the Hokage as soon as you got the chance. Thankfully Itachi didn't realise the missing Uchiha member or didn't care because he didn't come after you. When it was over and the Hokage sent other Jonin to investigate they saw Itachi was gone and Sasuke was left alive but mentally damaged. Thinking it was for the best the Hokage told you that you would have to take on a different name and background and keep your heritage a secret from everyone, including your Sharingan that you had managed to activate some months ago.

Whenever you got the chance though you would train yourself, physically, mentally, spiritually and more importantly you would train your Sharingan. It was a pain to start with but after a few months and years to when you and Sasuke came to the last year of the academy you could copy a person's movements and know what their body was going to do in advance, you could copy jutsu and see through genjutsu, but perhaps more importantly you had already spied on other shinobis' training and as such have built up a large arsenal of jutsu for one so young.

The Hokage had some input to the final selections to who's squad you would be in and after considerable thought put you in Kakashi's squad. You didn't want to but you couldn't argue with the Hokage so just went along, making sure to grab a pair of goggles that you had replaced the lens with a set of shades so no one could see your eyes.

"Alright you four before any of you become Genin you have to pass one last test. The bell test." Kakashi sensei began when you had all waited for three hours for him to arrive.

"Ah man not another test? Why do we have to do this one as well?" Naruto moaned but was rewarded with only a sigh from Kakashi then his whole demeanour changed, he suddenly became very serious.

"If none of you want to at least try my Bell test then you will all be sent back to the academy and never become Genin. Then again if you try and fail the result will be the same. Anyway the rules are quite simple, I have three bells here and each of you have to acquire one."

"But there's four of us." Sakura observed and Kakashi gave a nod but Sasuke was the one to speak in his usual cool and stand-offish way.

"That means at least one of us is going back to the academy."

"Now when I say begin then we will start. You have until noon." Before Kakashi gave the go ahead Naruto charged, desperate to get a bell but it was all to easy for Kakashi to counter and before Naruto knew any different he had his own kunai being held against his neck. "I didn't say begin yet." Kakashi released him and let the speed and effectiveness of his movements sink in to the other three students. "Begin."

As soon as you heard Kakashi's first word you prepared a Rasengan just like your father, the Fourth Hokage, taught you. No hand signs, no gathering and dividing your chakra into equal proportions, no this was an entirely different league. You had to hold a continuous stream of chakra in the palm of your hand, maintain it then create the spiralling circular orb shape with it, even as you did that though you had to remember to keep the exterior shell of the Rasengan strong and smooth enough so that you could gather more chakra into it.

You were ready as Kakashi finished his question and spun on the spot outstretching your hand with Rasengan extended hoping to land a hit on your sensei. It was so close but at the last moment Kakashi disappeared and instead of hitting him your Rasengan hit the tree that he was in front of. It only took a second for the tree to begin disintergrating but you maintained your balance of chakra and stopped pushing forwards so that when your jutsu was finished you left a circular dent in the side of the tree going to the core with a perfect spiral patterned into the wood. Another sound came to your ears but you couldn't even turn around before you felt a solid blow to the back of your neck and the world went dark.

You don't see it but you feel a pinch then tingling burn on your arm, when you look down you see a light cut along your arm. Then your eyes catch on to the kunai buried in the tree to your side. Kakashi is just toying with you and it starts to annoy you.

Constantly scanning to try and find him you look everywhere and are just about to gaze over your shoulder when you hear his voice from directly behind you.

"You aren't all that bright are you? Brave and gutsy I'll give you that but any Gennin with any common sense would know better than to go up against a Jonnin by themselves. You were planning of taking me on by yourself weren't you?"

This is one of my first stories, so it probably won't be very good. I'm hoping any talk I get is positive. I also know a good amount about Naruto, but most of that knowledge is from games for shippuden, and the show for original Naruto.If I forget a family, please add it, thank you. Your character has a family katana. The material it's made of changes with family.

Feel free to add things and stuff and junk that is not in Naruto (i.e. Werewolves, vampires, dragons, etc.)

Without even a second glance at him you say. "I also do not speak with those who have not earned my trust." Then before he has a chance to say anything back you stride in the direction he has just come from, bow deeply to Daenerys before silently taking a guarding position behind her and to her left. So you could see everything she was seeing and more, constantly keeping your eyes moving on more than one occasion you saw Drogo looking behind him to glance at you as if he had no idea what you were doing but that quickly passed as the gifting came to an end.

Khal Drogo stood up and left Dany's side and for a moment, though practically terrified of her groom, she looked at a loss without him by her side as if he was the only thing keeping back all of the others. He returned not a minute later grasping reins to a magnificent white filly and held his hand out for Dany to signal it was his gift to her.

'You are not part of a khalasar if you do not ride.' You hear one of Viserys's new 'advisors' telling him as Dany places a delicate hand on the horse's neck. With a hand from Drogo she mounts and rides through the camp so everyone could see her although you, having known Dany from a baby, knew she hated having eyes on her and must have been lost in the joy of riding. No more so was this evident than when she made her new horse leap over a pit fire and a look of glee on her face. Though as she returned to where she started Drogo mounted his own large stallion, a large man needs a large horse to carry him, her smile was lost as she knew what was to come. Sensing her fear you moved to her side and made it look as if you were checking her footing and how she was sitting to make sure she would ride properly. Drogo gave a quick but brief look of disgust and waited seemingly impatiently for you to finish with Dany.

"Do not be afraid my Queen. I have heard that when some men force an unwilling woman they can on occasion be stopped if you are in pain and look him deep in the eye. I don't believe he will try to harm you and if you need my sword you need only scream and I will come with all haste. Be strong my Queen." You say to her quietly before Viserys takes your place at her side and you can instantly see him trying to dig his nails into her flesh while he's positioned in such a way that Drogo cannot see what he is doing. 'You had better make him happy or you'll wake the dragon.' Viserys finally says in his usual threatening way, Dany doesn't reply only steals a glance to find you and you now then bow as she is led away by Drogo. When they are out of sight Viserys turns to you in a rage.

"What in the seven hells did you say to her?! No I don't want to know! Speak to her again and you will wake the dragon!" His finger waves involuntary from the way his arms, chest and head shake with built up rage. It would be hard not to laugh but you manage it, bow and say 'Your Majesty' in a low voice so none other than he can hear you.

Two weeks later you have managed to do enough to sate Viserys and his anger so make your way back to Dany's side as a constant guard. You had been going to her whenever you got the chance so she would not feel completely alone and isolated but now it was just as well that you caught up to her as you saw her riding her horse out of the path everyone else was going and towards a sea of green. You drive your horse hard to catch up but not before Viserys veers away and goes after her. The green grass is higher than any man and thick and would easily allow someone to be lost for days if they did not know where they were going but for now you had fresh tracks and a line of sight only recently broken to aim for.
You hear suppressed anger that you know to be Viserys then a slap as flesh hits flesh. You jump down from your horse, sprint forward and through the grass to see Dany trying to push Viserys away from her. When he doesn't and tries to hit her you can't stop yourself from darting between them, lifting and carrying Dany a few steps backwards and out of range from Viserys. Silence falls from behind you so you carefully lower Dany to the ground and bow to her, apologising as you do but then a voice calls from behind.

"What punishment for him khaleesi?" Turning your head while still bowed you see Viserys with a whip around his throat and one of Drogo's and now Daenerys's blood riders with the handle in his hand. "Do you want him dead?"

"No!" Dany nearly cries out, she takes a moment to compose herself then continues. "Take his horse and make him walk at the back of the khalasar." Without another instruction the blood rider does as his khaleesi wishes while Viserys complains loudly and resists every step of the way. "What have I just done?" She whispers to herself but you hear her perfectly and stand so she knows you are still there.

"I wanted to say before but I did not want to even risk you harm from Viserys. He is not the dragon he thinks he is, yes he is Targaryen but so are you. You are every bit as dragon as your brother believes himself to be my Queen. Why should a dragon fear another dragon? You need not be afraid of your brother anymore my Queen. I apologise if my words cause you displeasure, my Queen." You try to sound as humble as possible while letting her know that she had every right to choose what she chose. Dany only nods in agreement before throwing you her sweet beautiful smile and moving back to her horse. You get there a moment before her and offer your hands as a foothold to help her up which she takes with ease, practice for the last two weeks has made it far easier for her and she indeed looks far more comfortable while mounted.

The next incident it when Viserys tries to sneak into Dany's tent while she is feasting in the main tent beside Khal Drogo. You wouldn't normally leave her side but when you saw Viserys sneaking away you had to follow him. You had grown far more suspicious of him ever since his trying to attack Dany in the sea of green, fearful that he might try to hurt her now she is finally beginning to feel safe for once in her life. You see from afar Viserys enter her tent and know that she keeps her gifts in there, all of them including the petrified dragons eggs, all three of them.

You are the last original follower to go with the Targaryens following Robert Baratheon's rebellion and the King slayer 'Jaime Lannister' slaying of the true king. Before you crossed the Narrow sea with Viserys and Daenerys you swore an oath, to Queen Rhaella the day before she gave birth to Dany, to protect Dany and the Targaryens knowing even then that while Viserys claim to king was true and pure without Daenerys there could be no future Targaryens. It was far from what she wanted, an 8 year old not strong enough to wield a blade and armour swearing that he would fight off anyone and anything that tried to hurt her remaining children.

So you bode your time, doing what Viserys demanded and ordered but never going so far from Daenerys that you couldn't keep a protective eye over her. When Viserys arranged Dany's wedding to Khal Drogo you were the only one brave, or stupid, even to even attempt to talk him out of it reminding him over and over that, 'Princess Daenerys must have her first child a true born Targaryen, my King.' He only spat in reply "Do you wish to wake the DRAGON?!" He was cocksure, ignorant and would do anything he could to reclaim the Seven Kingdoms, it was only his rage that prevented those near enough to hear him from calling him what all of Westeros was calling him 'The Beggar King'.

You forced yourself to stay your hand when Viserys either hit Daenerys or tried to humiliate and control her, treating her as his plaything that has no voice and no say in anything he chose for her. Whenever you got the chance and were sure Viserys would not find out you would help Dany to her feet, clothe her if necessary, feed her and comfort her trying to let her know that while Viserys could one day reclaim the Seven Kingdoms and the true title of King that would in turn announce her as Queen and as a true Queen no one, not even the King can tell her what to do and how to do it. It was a difficult and incredibly dangerous thing to even attempt to do but you managed it over and over, even giving her a few final assuring words on the night of her wedding before Khal Drogo would lie with her.

You were 8 when you fled across the Narrow Sea with Viserys and Dany. Everyday, every chance you got you trained to wield a blade. Starting off small, just like Dany's baby form when you helped her and Viserys onto the last remaining ship thanks to the great storm that had claimed the skies for the month Dany was born and destroyed the Targaryen fleet. You knew you didn't have the strength to lift a proper blade so focused on daggers, bow and arrow, while you built up your strength every morning and every night whenever you got the chance. Though throughout the journey on the Narrow Sea Daenerys needed attending, she was only a baby, and Viserys constantly wanted everyone under him to run about even when there was either no room or nothing to do. But you didn't let that stop you as you continued to train yourself religiously, some of the crew said that only the dragons could stop you from maintaining your self induced harsh training routine. When Viserys overheard one day he slapped you across the cheek and ordered you to stop for a week, so you did, not because he was a dragon but because he was a Targaryen and you served him. Though that along with other incidents made him think he was a dragon, through and through, and only need be angered to become the beast hence his favourite threat. 'Do you want to wake the dragon.' He may have been charismatic but you could see he was pathetic, but forced yourself to stay silent around him for the most part. At the age of 21 you had taught yourself enough to stay alive in a fight, with or without weapons, to shoot down birds or animals while hunting and de-fur them so you could trade and keep at least a little income coming in for Dany if she needed it. You were forced to fight, like a gladiator, for Viserys entertainment and general party trick whenever you all moved location to somewhere new or even when you all were forced to re-visit. At first Viserys hated that you continued to survive and Dany either cried and turned away or left or made sure not to even be near where Viserys might decide to show off your talents. After awhile though even the hateful Viserys came to like you, even if it was only for your abilities, though he never stopped putting you up for another fight.

The worst was at Dany's wedding when she was forced to watch. Viserys had claimed it to be another majestic gift from him to her to wake her most loyal and longest serving slave to fight in her honour against any man of Khal Drogo's choosing. Luckily Drogo didn't like Viserys so pointed to a random warrior in front of him who had just finished riding a slave woman, that was enough to make you hate the man you were paired against. He fought well, for a random, but you were inside his attacking guard and through the other side before he knew what had hit him. He just swung wildly, quickly but wildly, then as he began to tire you switched from a dodging and blocking defence to a swift and piercing attack. With two moves you had him holding his blade above his head while you had your own through his ribs and out the other side. It earned a rough clap from Khal Drogo as he saw a look of total relief on his bride's face and for the first time, subtle clapping from her also. A new man to join Viserys's company as of late also regarded you with a nod of the head, much to Viserys's dismay at his guests paing more attention to you than him. He waited until Viserys had busied himself with conversation a few hours later to come over and talk to you.

"It is a rare thing to see one as young as you fight with such skill. I had thought that the Targaryens had no sworn swords remaining. Tell me, first what is your name and second who trained you?"

"I might ask you the same question. I do not speak to anyone unbeknown to my Queen and King." You reply stiffly showing that you won't be intimidated. It only earns a small laugh before he flourishes a bow and gifts to Dany saying he is honoured to meet the Princess and swears to commit to the Targaryen cause. When Dany askes his name he replies with, 'Ser Jorah Mormont' bows again and returns to your side to continue the discussion.

"So you know my name, might I learn yours now?"

Ibiki gives a slight nod in return before saying with the slightest hint of care. "I suppose that will just have to do, next time you wake up late just stick to your warm up then come to class." You were about to ask how he knew you slept in but thought better of it and nodded in agreement instead before moving to your seat in the second row without further disturbance.
You always focused in class and in fact whenever you were at the academy, perhaps that was another reason why you kept getting out of trouble with Ibiki, maybe he saw your apparent devotion to classwork so your late appearances didn't seem too bad as you always kept up and never caused trouble in class.
Time flew by and before you knew it Ibiki was clapping his hands together to snap those of you who were studying out of the learning trance. "Alright everybody that's 11:30, lunch time. Remember not to fill up too much or you might feel sick when we move onto Taijutsu training when you return. In fact I don't want any of you to come back to this class after lunch but go straight to the training area out the back. Alright off you go." He said with such authority it was more an order than mere remark but as you gathered your things and made your way to the door Ibiki spoke again. "Not you Izo, I would like a word."
With that you stepped aside so the other three students behind you could leave and when it was only you and Ibiki left he closed the door and pointed to a seat in the front row which you needed no further instruction to sit.

"Have I done some thing wrong sensei?" You ask innocently while trying to figure out what you might have done and before Ibiki can answer your question you blurt out. "I'm really sorry about being late, not just today but everyday. I'm just trying so hard to be better and time doesn't matter to me when I'm focused on my training. I. I..." Ibiki lifts his hand up in front of him to get your attention and more importantly to stop you rambling on.

"Izo your time keeping could do with improvement but I'm not worried because you always try so hard in class and no matter how late you end up coming to class you don't go home until you finish whatever it was we were doing in class that day. If that wasn't the case then I'd inform the Hokage, but there is no need for that. In fact I just wanted to ask you to stay behind because Maito Guy has received word that he will be getting a new rookie squad next year but knowing him as I do he won't wait until then to begin his training, student to sensei. What I'm saying is that if you are willing and would like some help I'm sure I can convince Maito Guy to take you on as a pupil for a year of intense Taijutsu training and body conditioning. It is up to you but I just thought that you might like the offer." You can't believe what Ibiki is offering, if not personally. Maito Guy the village's green beast is a master of Taijutsu, the iron fist, and if you could get even a year's worth of one-on-one training with him then that would be better than another five years at the academy with your current training program.

"Thank you sensei! Thank you so much, I promise I will do my best! When do I start? Where should I meet him? What should I take with me?" You were ecstatic and wanted nothing more than to begin right there and now, as such your words seemed to melt together due to the speed you were talking.

You've never gone a day without training in the morning. Even when, such as today, you wake up later than you should have and are most definitely going to be late at the academy.
Ibiki isn't as hard on you as you first thought he might be seeing as he is the head of the interrogation corps when not working as an instructor. He is a lot more hands on than the other teachers but you've never minded, in fact you thrive on the physical side to his lessons. It's only when he chooses to use his incredibly probing mind on the theory that you struggle, but everyone struggles.

Anyway you scoff down your food and as quickly as you can get dressed. Standard blue ninja sandals, black knee high shorts, mesh under-armour with a rough well worn sleeveless jacket over the top that you never zip up. You wrap both of your arms in bandages from bicep to fingertip leaving only the skin of side of your shoulders visible, then you wrap your right leg from shin to thigh in bandage and strap your shuriken holster over the top. With the final touch being a black bandana and mask combo you leave your apartment and lock the door before sprinting off into the nearby woods as fast as your legs will carry you.

You arrive at your usual destination in record time and get straight to work starting with a hundred push-ups, sit-ups and crunches. Once you blasted through those you take your battle stance in front of a large upright stump, still rooted to the ground. Legs bent, fists in at your sides and facing your target with an open front.

For an half an hour you repeatedly pound your right fist into the hard bark only to go straight onto your left fist for another half an hour. You do this for another hour switching to your feet, right then left. Ibiki has always held you in the highest regard when it comes to taijutsu within your class, only being defeated once in two years. This made you focus more and more on learning new combinations, toughening your body even more and always trying to push yourself more and more physically. As it goes for your chakra, well you need to focus much more on the mental energy needed when preforming different jutsu.

You finish your workout there, for now, and head to the academy. Always pushing yourself you ran as fast as you could and arrived, still late. Ibiki looks towards the door where you stand with your head hung low and trying desperately to get to your seat without him noticing, it was never going to happen but you still hoped.

"Izo you are late, again. This is becoming more and more normal for you, and I don't approve."

You've never gone a day without training in the morning. Even when, such as today, you wake up later than you should have and are most definitely going to be late at the academy.
Ibiki isn't as hard on you as you first thought he might be seeing as he is the head of the interrogation corps when not working as an instructor. He is a lot more hands on than the other teachers but you've never minded, in fact you thrive on the physical side to his lessons. It's only when he chooses to use his incredibly probing mind on the theory that you struggle, but everyone struggles.

Anyway you scoff down your food and as quickly as you can get dressed. Standard blue ninja sandals, black knee high shorts, mesh under-armour with a rough well worn sleeveless jacket over the top that you never zip up. You wrap both of your arms in bandages from bicep to fingertip leaving only the skin of side of your shoulders visible, then you wrap your right leg from shin to thigh in bandage and strap your shuriken holster over the top. With the final touch being a black bandana and mask combo you leave your apartment and lock the door before sprinting off into the nearby woods as fast as your legs will carry you.

You arrive at your usual destination in record time and get straight to work starting with a hundred push-ups, sit-ups and crunches. Once you blasted through those you take your battle stance in front of a large upright stump, still rooted to the ground. Legs bent, fists in at your sides and facing your target with an open front.

For an half an hour you repeatedly pound your right fist into the hard bark only to go straight onto your left fist for another half an hour. You do this for another hour switching to your feet, right then left. Ibiki has always held you in the highest regard when it comes to taijutsu within your class, only being defeated once in two years. This made you focus more and more on learning new combinations, toughening your body even more and always trying to push yourself more and more physically. As it goes for your chakra, well you need to focus much more on the mental energy needed when preforming different jutsu.

You finish your workout there, for now, and head to the academy. Always pushing yourself you ran as fast as you could and arrived, still late. Ibiki looks towards the door where you stand with your head hung low and trying desperately to get to your seat without him noticing, it was never going to happen but you still hoped.

"Izo you are late, again. This is becoming more and more normal for you, and I don't approve."

Hi there, like you already saw this is my first attempt so please don't aim your hopes high for this one. Having said that I promise to do my best.

This story is that of Naruto only not from his point of view. You play as Izo, a character of my own creation who lives in the Village Hidden in the Leaves. You start your journey two years before Naruto's. The reason why, well that information comes later, if you choose to try and find out, but that is just one path.

Waking up to a slight breeze the first thing you notice is how light out it is. You forgot to draw your curtains last night before you fell asleep and now you've woken up it's clear that you've overslept. Usually you wake up as the sun rises so you can get at least two hours training in before you have to go to the academy. Rubbing your eyes you get out of bed, all in one motion, if a little groggy. You stifle a yawn and aim yourself to the bathroom.
After splashing some water on your face and feeling more alert you much more gracefully make your way to the kitchen to get some breakfast. As you sit at your kitchen table and eat you contemplate what you are going to do.
