You open your jaws and a stream of color comes forth. The eyes quickly move to the side, dodging away.

From the light of the Aurora Beam, you get a glimpse of a dark body.

You wait in the dark for a few minutes, senses outstretched wide open for ''anything.''

It seems that was your mistake.

You feel something ''squeeze'' your opened mind, and you’re sure that if you were a regular mortal, you’d be dead.

The figure leaps from the dark, claws outstretched, and as you stumble out of the way, you finally get a glance at your foe.

It looks like a Persian, though it’s like no Persian you’ve ever seen. Of course, it’s not like you’ve had a chance to see any, but you know what they’re supposed to look like, and this one looks absolutely nothing like it should.

Instead of having creamy-colored fur, it’s completely black, with little puffs of darkness spewing from its flanks every so often, like smoke. Its whiskers look ''charred,'' and the gem on its forehead is dark purple and cracked.

You open your mouth to fire another Beam, but whatever-it-is squeezes your mind again, inducing a pounding headache with it.

The Persian launches itself at you and successfully scratches your side in rapid succession. You manage to find the strength to back off from its Fury Swipes, but it leaps again at you…

You lower yourself into a crouch and your claws tighten their grip into the solid darkness at your feet, ready for anything.

The creature’s eyes close to slits and in an instant, throws itself into the air, extending two claws towards you…

In that split second as you dodge quickly to the side, you identify it as a Persian.

It’s like no Persian you’ve ever seen. Of course, it’s not like you’ve had a chance to see any, but you know what they’re supposed to look like, and this one looks absolutely nothing like it should.

Instead of having creamy-colored fur, it’s completely black, with little puffs of darkness spewing from its flanks every so often, like smoke. Its whiskers look ''charred'', and the gem on its forehead is dark purple and cracked.

As it lands, it spins and opens it mouth to let out such an ear-shattering screech that you’re convinced must have beaten a world record or something.

For a few precious seconds, your sight loses focus and a headache crashes through you. As things settle again, the Persian launches itself at you and scratches your side in rapid succession. You leap away from its Fury Swipes, and curse yourself as you stumble.

The Guardian of Flames

You travel inland to the volcano. Along the way, you hit a dirt road that’s used by humans and their Pokemon companions (you’re not sure if all humans who come to this island are trainers). You decide to follow it. You don’t run into anyone else; who else would be heading up towards the mountain in the late afternoon?

Conveniently, the path brings you straight to the base of the volcano. It then slopes, wrapping around the mountain in a smooth ascent.
You abandon the road and climb up your way; hopping up from rocky ledge to rocky ledge. It takes some time and effort, but soon you’re standing at the rim, looking down into boiling lava.

You roar.

Behind and below you, great winds cause the trees to billow about. Some errant leaves are blown in the gusts.
From inside the volcano, you hear an answering bellow.

You look down into the crater and spy a cave above the lava-level. There’s a stepping-stone path of solid bedrock jutting out of the inner wall leading between the cave and the fringe.

You run forward, taking the path down and into the volcano. Such close exposure to the magma is uncomfortable, but you know if any ''other'' living creature tried, they’d be burned and unable to go anywhere near the cave.

The cave is actually a tunnel, which leads you downwards. Eventually, the tunnel widens into a bigger cavern and there in the center, waiting expectantly for you, is the Champion of Volcanoes himself.

He rumbles a greeting.

“Hello, Entei.” You say as you approach.

“Welcome to Cinnabar Island, Suicune.”

“Oh? Is that where I am?” A nod.

“What brings you here?” Entei asks.

You explain about the empty lake (he doesn’t seem particularly interested about that), and then describe the metal thing. When you explain how you lost it, he shakes his head.

“Very sloppy. You need to buff-up.”

You look away, sheepishly, then ask, “Do you have any idea what it was?”

“No; nothing is coming to mind at your description.”

“I see…”

The two of you chat for a little while, but are at a loss as to your next step. Entei notes that the sun is going, so the two of you decide to part ways and hope for the best. You nod in farewell and leave.

Once outside, you look up and admire the sunset, then find a place to settle down for a night.

As you near shore, you can sense a number of beings ahead of you; paddling about the water. You give the swimmers a wide birth, climbing up on shore at a disserted spot, with none but the wild Pokemon seeing you. You venture into the surrounding forest.

A trio of Growlithe approach.

“Greetings, Serene One.” One says.

You open your mouth to thank him and find something very out of place.

The metal… thing… is no longer in your mouth.

Alarmed, you look around in a desperate attempt to see if you dropped it when you climbed onto the island. To the surprise of your welcoming committee, you turn about and retrace your steps back to the beach.

Nothing.

''Could it have been jerked away when I hit the water before?'' You figure, ignoring the questioning glances and shuffling of the Growlithe. Lost in your musings, you don’t notice when they slowly vanish back into the trees.

Knowing the currents of the ocean and just how big it is, you find it extremely doubtful that you’d find it again if you’d dropped it in the water.

Forlorn, you look back up at the mountain.

You pick up the bauble and, ignoring the bland metallic taste, head out at a speedy trot into the forest.

You pass trees and bushes and even more trees (at one point you even hop over a stray, winding river); it’s a nice change of pace when the scenery turns mountain-y. You absent mindedly dash from rock to rock until you stand at a peak. You look down, mesmerized at the sight.

Before you lies the ocean, as far as your eyes can see. Winds from the water blow past you, and you lift your head to it; you mane blowing in the wind.

You race forwards, picking a path through the outcroppings and boulders on this side of the mountain. You spy an outwards facing rock and put it in your sights.

You speed up and launch yourself off of the long boulder and soar through the air. The ocean spreads out below you. You brace yourself to land on the water’s surface as gravity takes hold.

Or, perhaps… not.

Instead of landing smoothly on top, you splash right through into the salty water. You take a moment, surprised, to get your bearings. At least it didn’t hurt when you burst into the water at that speed.

Good thing no one saw that.

You start paddling and find yourself zooming through the water. Eventually, you end up meeting schools of Goldeen and Tentacool, who eye your passing with passive interest.

You figure that you must have launched yourself from too high up to land safely on the surface, so the power that allows you to walk on water must have not activated itself.

Alright, then.

After some time of traveling, you swim up to the surface and spy a large mountain-island in your path. As you near, you can tell that it’s actually a volcano.

The Back Way

You race around the clearing, weaving your way through the trees. You sail up the rocky incline when you come to it and come to a smooth stop just inside the trees next to the river.

Outside, the men have started firing the cannons. Nets blast forth from them and as they wrap around several of the lake’s inhabitants, they cry out in pain. The nets are electrified.

Once the nets have secured their bundles, they retract back to the cannons. With a growl, you spring out and cut the lines connecting the nets to the cannons with your teeth.

Electricity sizzles, but you pay it no mind as the Pokemon in the net lands safely.

“What the…” A man says. The other pulls out a radio from his belt and reports. “We’ve met an unexpected factor. A Suicune has appeared!”

You don’t wait to hear the reply; the damage is done. You leap at the man and, with your body weight atop him, send him slamming into the ground. You growl at him.

The cannons swing towards you but hesitate in firing due to your close range with the trapped man.

“F-Fire!” The man calls to his companion at the controls. Before the nets dutifully close in, you leap quickly out of the way. The man is not so lucky.

You send an Aurora Beam at the other man. The machine freezes with him.

The battle is over.

You look around the clearing as the lake Pokemon calm, help each up, and slowly trickle back down to their lake. Several of them come up to you and thank you for your help. They express their doubt at being able to have defeated the men on their own. You regally nod and watch the Pokemon return back down to the water.

Instant Weathering

The gush of water slams into the rock and it splits. The rocks and pebbles it becomes rushes back to the Golem in a tempest stream. Hit with its weakness as well as the added bumps of gravel, the Golem flies backwards and skids on the ground. It doesn’t get back up, causing one of the men to growl and return it to its Pokeball.

A prick of something hits your foreleg, and you look down at a glowing purple-ish twig embedded in yourself.

That can’t be good.

You look up to see the Roserade leaping at you; your vision blurs and your head is too dizzy to send your legs the command to dodge.

Suddenly, the Roserade is hit with several blasts of water. You look to the nearby cliff and find several of the lake Pokemon standing there. You’ve gained some help.

The man who commanded the Golem had gone back the machine and started tinkering with it. Half of your new teammates target him, while the others come to flank your sides.

The Poliwhirl from before gets in close to the Roserade and gives him a Double Slap. Its Poliwag companions launch a Bubble when the Poliwhirl jumps back to your side. Not the most helpful of attacks, but they prove a nice distraction as you gather yourself.

You fire an Aurora Beam at the grass Pokemon, then turn its rays to the machine. The entire structure freezes over, with one man still at the control panel. The one spared an icy fate fumbles at his belt, clutching a radio; he yells into it.

“M-Mission unsuccessful! Requesting help! There’s a-” The rest of his message is lost to static as you fire a Gust at him. The winds knock the device to the ground where it’s promptly smashed into bits after a Quagsire steps on it.

The man gulps.

You step forward and swallow a fleeting pain from the Roserade’s previous Poison Sting. You think sour thoughts as you stalk up to the man, who had fallen backwards at your (and your army’s) approach.

The battle now over, a Sentret leaps out of some nearby bushes and races up to you. It holds up a pink berry and you realize it’s a Pecha berry. How thoughtful of it.

You nod in thanks and eat it.

You stoop down and lock eyes with the man. He looks back at you, fear obvious in his eyes.

You growl; he flinches and lets out a tight yelp.

As amusing as this is, you find yourself wishing that he could understand you; interrogations go so much better that way. Instead, you settle on clasping his shirt with your teeth and pulling. Maybe you can find out something handy by anything he has on him.

“Hey! Wait a… Stop that!” You ignore the man’s cries until something falls out from your rummaging.

He grabs at it, but you step on his hand.

Your attention drawn by the fallen item, the man scrambles to his feet and runs into the forest. Some of the Pokemon (those who’d had a brief imprisonment in the nets before their comrades set them free) dash off behind him.

He won’t be getting far.

You inspect the object; it’s small, round and metallic. It has a dark blue coloring. You stare at it for a long time, ''knowing'' what it is, but the answer keeps slipping away.

You sigh and address the Pokemon gathered around you.

“I don’t suppose any of you know what this is?” They gather closer to inspect the trinket, and discuss amongst themselves. It’s shortly discovered that none of them know anything.

You start wondering if it’s possible to contact the Unown, when a Furret steps up, followed by several others.

“A friend of mine might know.” She says.

“Oh?”

She nods. You wait a moment for the Pokemon to elaborate, but she only looks nervously at you.

“And where might I find this friend?”

“Oh! Right; sorry.” She continues, abashedly. “He tends to roost near Violet City.”

“Roost?”

“Yes. He’s a Skarmory.”

“A Skarmory…”

“Yes.”

You blink. “How on earth did you manage to make friends with a Skarmory?”

“Oh. A cousin thrice removed once helped the Skarmory’s mother in gathering brambles and the like for her nest when she sprained a wing.”

You decide to move on instead of asking how a metal wing could be sprained.

“What makes you think he’ll know?”

A Jump to the Left…

The rock crashes behind you and you get a flash of the tree timbering backwards as you relocate yourself. You land then quickly leap again to dodge a Poison Sting from the Roserade.

The Golem spins forwards rapidly and comes at you in a Rollout. You fire a stream of water at the impeding target and the Golem struggles against it a few moments, before being roughly thrown backwards. One of the men growls and returns it to its Pokeball. You turn to the Roserade, who is leaping towards you, bloom-hands glowing with the preparations of a Mega Drain…

Suddenly, the Roserade is hit with several blasts of water. You look to the nearby cliff and find several of the lake Pokemon standing there. You’ve gained some help.

The man who commanded the Golem had gone back the machine and started tinkering with it. Half of your new teammates target him, while the others come to flank your sides.

The Poliwhirl from before gets in close to the Roserade and gives him a Double Slap. Its Poliwag companions launch a Bubble when the Poliwhirl jumps back to your side. Not the most helpful of attacks, but they prove a nice distraction as you gather yourself.

You fire an Aurora Beam at the grass Pokemon, then turn its rays to the machine. The entire structure freezes over, with one man still at the control panel. The one spared an icy fate fumbles at his belt, clutching a radio; he yells into it.

“M-Mission unsuccessful! Requesting help! There’s a-” The rest of his message is lost to static as you fire a Gust at him. The winds knock the device to the ground where it’s promptly smashed into bits after a Quagsire steps on it.

The man gulps.

You walk up to the lake and stop a foot from the water’s edge.

You stretch a moment, and then lower yourself to the ground, keeping your head up, alert for any suspicious activity.

You watch the Pokemon splash about in the water and then hear footsteps behind you. You turn and find two Quagsire looking at you.

“…What brings you to Blue Moon Falls, great Aspect of Monsoons?” One asks.

You think a moment before replying. You figure its best not to mention that anything may be off, and decide to play it cool.

“This is a very nice lake. Its water is quite pure, which is a good change from the many dirty water-beds that exist scattered about the world. I’ve decided to rest here a while.”

To your complement about the lake, they beam proudly.

“You are welcome here.” The other Quagsire says, and the two leave you.

You watch a Buizel and a Quagsire race each other about the pool, when you hear something. Your head flies up to look up the falls and the ground beyond.

You stand and rush into the forest to remain unseen.

All activity stops as the Pokemon notice your quick retreat, then, as the rumbling grows louder, they look up the cliff face. A giant machine stops at the edge just beside the river that forms the Falls. Two men appear beside it.

The wind carries their conversation down.

“Look at ‘em all. There’s plenty of ‘em.” One says, which is answered with a nod. “Don’t know why we had to come here to get water Pokemon. There are plenty of other places to get ‘em.”

“Don’t question the boss’s orders.” The second man walks to the side of the machine and presses a series of buttons. The front of the machine opens up and several ‘arms’ come out. The arms reach to the back of the machine and, with two on each, pick up what looks to be cannons.

You feel a flash of anger as the cannons are aimed towards the lake.

You faintly hear snickering.

“…never seen such a lazy legendary…”

“…never seen a ''sleeping'' legendary…”

More cackling. The three voices are growing more annoying by the second while they chatter away in your ears.

Finally, your eyes fly open. One voice screeches in surprise as an Aipom scrambles backward. Its fellows laugh at it.

Aipoms. You should have known.

You stretch as you stand up. The Aipoms ‘panic,’ running around and swinging from branches (you note you’re in a forest).

You glare at the three nuisances.

“Ain’t you a scary one?” One of them taunts, swinging upside down from a branch. You breathe a gust at it. Although it grips its tail tighter, you blow harder until it loses its grip. As the Aipom falls to the ground, the other two snicker at it. You swing your gaze to them.

“''Do you mind?!''” You roar at them.

Finally, the three flee, with their laughter ringing in your ears. As you eye your surroundings, you grumble that you hate Aipoms.

After you shake yourself fully awake, you look around.

You’re in a forest that you dimly recognize as being north of Ecruteak City, Johto. You silently thank the Unown for putting you someplace near where you need to be.

You think for several seconds and identify the waterfall that was shown to you as being somewhere near Cherrygrove City. Just north of it, you believe.

You turn to face south, nod your head decisively, then run forwards. Trees pass by as you fly past them. You silently admire the grace that you run with and the speed at which you run at. At this rate, it’ll be next to no time before you get this show on the road.

After a few minutes of running through the trees and over rocks and off cliffs, (to land safely, and ''gracefully'', at the bottom. Who knew that your skinny legs could take such an impact so well?) you slow down when you reach the edge of the forest. When you reach the last shadows cast by the leaves, you stop.

Before you lay Ecruteak City, but your eyes are glued to the scorched, blackened tower just in front of you. The other tower, tall and proud, lay in your peripheral vision.

A part of you wants to explore the tower where legend said you had your beginnings, but the other part was concerned that if you stop, you’ll miss whatever is happening at that gorgeous lake.

What should you do?

Let’s Hurry to the Lake

Deciding it must just be your growing headache, you move onwards. You break into a run for good measure.

At last you reach a break in the trees and find the lake.

You trot to the water’s edge and look in. Not the cleanest lake you’ve seen, but you dimly recall seeing worse. You blink at your reflection. You see a shadow growing behind it and the instant you get the inkling that the shadow is behind you, it pushes you into the water. The part of your mind not preoccupied with the rush that falling headfirst into water gives you, notes that the hand that pushed you in felt… twiggy…

Once in the water you look around. It’s foggy and you’re vexed to find that your headache has gotten worse.

You decide maybe coming to the lake wasn’t the best idea. You blame the headache.

You swim up and, to your surprise, find that you’re not in the lake anymore. It’s still foggy, however.

You suddenly hear a haunting melody and you feel quite tired. Your eyelids droop.

You Made a Splash

The water is nice and it makes your head feel lighter. Once the bubbles fade you look around the lake.

You note that you can see perfectly well. Somehow, you also know the depths and length and width of the lake.

You move your little skinny legs and, somehow, manage to propel yourself forwards. You notice that you’re not having any difficulties in breathing, which makes you quite happy. Underwater breath is cool, and you don’t even have to be a fish.

Looking around, you find it strange that the lake is completely empty, baring you of course. The lake would be perfect for others to live in. A few Magikarp, some Goldeen, perhaps even a Dragonair would find this lake to be a nice home.

You pause and blink, and images of the Pokemon you just thought of flash behind your eyes, as well as some key facts about them.

'''That’s right.''' A powerful voice jerks you out of your ponderings. You look around and note that you are still alone in the lake.

Your examinations bear fruit.

Hidden below a leaf and some bent blades of grass is a small, round piece of metal. It’s a dark shade of blue. You feel like you should know what it is, but you just can’t put your tongue on it.

At a loss, you stare unfocused at the thing. Then it hits you; ask Raikou and Entei.

The Burned Tower

You take three long leaps out of the forest. You gather yourself for a leap and jump up onto what was once just the first tier of the tower. You leap in through the hole and spy two other figures on the ground floor right next to where you land.

Entei and Raikou.

''Small world.'' You think.

“It seems we all had the same thought.” Raikou says. You nod. Sure.

“I was feeling a bit sentimental.” Entei says in answer. You wonder if the Unown did something to bring them here.
The two look at you.

You also can’t help but wonder if they also went through what you did. You silently curse the Unown for not telling you. You don’t have to wonder long, for Raikou speaks up.

“Welcome, new Suicune.” Entei also nods a greeting.

“…Thank you…?” You say. The two chuckle at your confusion.

“The Unown told us what befell the last Suicune, so it makes sense that you are not the same Pokemon who we knew before.” Raikou says.

“What happened?” The two beasts share a look.

“How much did the Unown tell you?” Entei asks. Relieved that you wouldn’t have to hide anything awkward, you tell them.

Raikou glances questioningly at you. “They didn’t tell you about… never mind.”

“What?” But Raikou only shakes his head. You look over to Entei.

“I don’t know why the Unown didn’t give you the whole story, but I guess they have their reasons.”

“Maybe Suicune has to figure it out?” Raikou asks Entei, who shrugs.

Getting a bad feeling, you ask again, “What happened to the last Suicune?”

You stare the two of them down.

Raikou manages to mumble, “…killed by…” before Entei butts Raikou in the side.

Great. You know you’ll be attacked, that’s to be expected, but now you have to worry about being killed. Wonderful.

You try to get them to tell you more, but are unsuccessful.

“Where are you headed now?” Entei asks.

“To a-” You cut yourself off as you hear a noise nearby. All three of you jerk towards the sound and stare in surprise at the trainer who had just come down the ladder from the entrance floor above.

The boy has a Totodile at his feet and you can tell that he’s very close to evolving.

The three of you scatter up and out of the tower.

You open your eyes to incredibly bright sunlight shining on your face. You stand and stretch, yawning, then you take a look around.

You’re in a forest that you dimly recognize as being north of Ecruteak City, Johto. You silently thank the Unown for putting you someplace near where you need to be.

You think for several seconds and identify the waterfall that was shown to you as being somewhere near Cherrygrove City. Just north of it, you believe.

You turn to face south, nod your head decisively, then run forwards. Trees pass by as you fly past them. You silently admire the grace that you run with and the speed at which you run at. At this rate, it’ll be next to no time before you get this show on the road.

After a few minutes of running through the trees and over rocks and off cliffs (to land safely, and ''gracefully'', at the bottom. Who knew that your skinny legs could take such an impact so well? Then again, it was probably the Wind) you slow down when you reach the edge of the forest. When you reach the last shadows cast by the leaves, you stop.

Before you lies Ecruteak City, but your eyes are glued to the scorched, blackened tower just in front of you. You see the other tower, tall and proud, in your peripheral vision.

A part of you wants to explore the tower where legend said you had your beginnings, but the other part is concerned that if you stop, you’ll miss whatever is happening at that gorgeous lake.

What should you do?

You Fell Through the Ice (Good Job)

The water is quite cool below the ice, and you are thankful that the ice didn’t cut you as you fell through. It would be a pity if the clear, pretty water was stained with your blood.

Your skinny legs move and, somehow, manage to propel you forwards. You note that you’re not having any difficulties in breathing, which makes you quite happy.

You also note that you can see perfectly well. Somehow, you also know the depths and length and width of the lake, as well as noting that the lake is completely empty, baring you of course.

You pause and blink, and images of the Pokemon you just thought of flash behind your eyes, as well as some key facts about them.

Is Anyone Out There…?

You prepare yourself before you inhale, and once you do you pay close attention to the many different scents. You smell three distinctive Pokemon smells that you guess would be nearby.

The smell of a Nincada is strong; that identifies it as being nearby and you can place it on one of the branches in a tree above. It has a tone of faintness to it, so you can gather that it hasn’t moved for awhile. You figure its sleeping. You turn away.

You can faintly see the outline of a Metapod hanging not too far overhead. No danger there.

A rustling noise brings your attention to a clump of bushes nearby.

'''''Who’s there?''''' You send the inquiry out instead of speaking it. With luck, if whoever is out there wishes you harm, it’ll help you seem too powerful to mess with. There’s no answer. Neither is there a single rustle.

Just as you turn away to head to the lake, the bush rustles again as something big jumps out of it. It takes a swing at you but you manage to jump back and get a good look at your attacker.

It’s a Shiftry. But it doesn’t look right. Some half-memory tells you that it should be brown, with a white mane and leaves for hands.

This… creature before you looks nothing like that.

Its body blends in with the darkness around it. Its mane is a deep red and the hands are just veins. Its eyes, glowing red, stares at you.

“Who are you? What do you want?”

It doesn’t answer; it just stares. Swallowing the nervousness from seeing such an unnatural thing, you lift your heavy head and try to look prideful.

“I’m warning you; I’m a legendary. You don’t want to mess with me.”

Now it reacts. It lets out a loud screech to the sky which prompts you to take a few steps back.

'''‘Good.’''' You hear an ominous voice say once the echoes of the screech fade.

Too Late?!

As you run forwards, you take note of the natural beauty of the forest. A Butterfree swarm flies above the treetops; a Ledian snoozes in a shaded branch overlooking a river. You shift your course and run alongside the river, occasionally jumping over to the opposite bank, enjoying the rush of wind and dampness below your paws.

After the river takes you around Violet City, you must swerve away from it when it turns away to the west.

You skip around the small mountain containing what travelers called the Dark Cave, noting it briefly in your mind. You jump from rock to rock as you bypass lazily around it.

It’s not long before you end up running along another river. You follow it, concluding that it becomes the waterfall that is your destination. You run along the riverbank, eager to get your destiny started, until you find the edge and look down at the pond at the bottom.

You are met with silence.

The water below is still; not even a ripple spreads throughout the lake. At a loss, you think for a few moments.

The Water's Edge

You carefully make your way down the cliff but, shaken as you are at the unnaturalness of it all, end up sliding half way, bruising your delicate paws.
At the bottom, you stumble towards the waterfront.

You feel a strong presence suddenly but before you manage to stop, you step forward and a great wrongness surges through your paw. You catch a glimpse of a square, engraved, rocky plate. You don’t have time to identify it before you know no more.

The Burned Tower

You take three long leaps out of the forest. You gather yourself for a leap and jump up onto what was once just the first tier of the tower. You leap in through the hole and spy two other figures on the ground floor right next to where you land.

Entei and Raikou.

''Small world.'' You think.

“It seems we all had the same thought.” Raikou says. You nod. Sure.

“I was feeling a bit sentimental.” Entei says in answer. You wonder if the Unown did something to bring them here.
The two look at you.

You also can’t help but wonder if they also went through what you did. You silently curse the Unown for not telling you. You don’t have to wonder long, for Raikou speaks up.

“Welcome, new Suicune.” Entei also nods a greeting.

“…Thank you…?” You say. The two chuckle at your confusion.

“The Unown told us what befell the last Suicune, so it makes sense that you are not the same Suicune that we knew before.” Raikou says.

“What happened?” The two beasts share a look.

“How much did the Unown tell you?” Entei asks. Relieved that you wouldn’t have to hide anything awkward, you tell them.

Raikou glances questioningly at you. “They didn’t tell you about… never mind.”

“What?” But Raikou only shakes his head. You look over to Entei.

“I don’t know why the Unown didn’t give you the whole story, but I guess they have their reasons.”

“Maybe Suicune has to figure it out?” Raikou asks Entei, who shrugs.

Getting a bad feeling, you ask again, “What happened to the last Suicune?”

You stare the two of them down.

Raikou manages to mumble, “…killed by…” before Entei butts Raikou in the side.

Great. You know you’ll be attacked, that’s to be expected, but now you have to worry about being killed. Wonderful.

You try to get them to tell you more, but are unsuccessful.

“Where are you headed now?” Entei asks.

“To a-” You cut yourself off as you hear a noise nearby. All three of you jerk towards the sound and stare in surprise at the trainer who had just come down the ladder from the entrance floor above.

The boy has a Totodile at his feet and you can tell that he’s very close to evolving.

The three of you scatter up and out of the tower.

The Bell Tower

You skirt around the forest and as you approach the other tower, you hear a ringing sound from it as you approach.

You pause, and then remember about the four bells that are on each floor that would ring if Ho-Oh or Suicune approached.

''Riiiight. Whoops.''

You change your mind and decide to finally go find out what’s up at the waterfall.

So, while the people within the tower cause a commotion, you head back into the forest and make your way down to Cherrygrove City.
