Xon asks,"But how are a group of renegade Starfleet officers going to take over a ship of over 1,000?" Picard replies,"That's what I want you to find out. For them to control this ship, they would need all of us gone. Most likely, they would sabotage the life-support systems to kill us." You ask,"So who is the prime suspect in this?" Picard says,"We believe the Maquis are behind this scheme." "It would be the logical conclusion. Hundreds of officers have left Starfleet to fight for the Maquis along the Federation-Cardassian border", notes Xon.

"For security purposes, we will be rendezvousing with the USS Hood to beam aboard armed Starfleet personnel in the event the Maquis do show up. In any case, I want you two to begin this investigation. Remember that Data wil be helping you. Dismissed", says Picard.
