You turn to them and bow. Some smile in reply, but are too afraid to approach. Others make gestures of protection; you are going beyond the Wall, so they believe you to be cursed.
A woman is waiting on the path to the Poonani Gate, the final doorway between Analland and the wilds of Cokhabad. You recognise the Sergeant of the Sightmaster Warriors. She is draped in the ceremonial garb of her order, a strange and form-fitting ensemble that complements her impressive physique, as well as tracing every contour of her body. An elaborate coif and veil covers her head and face entirely, except her large, hypnotic eyes.
She touches her forehead with two fingers. "I will not keep you long," she says, with an authoritative purr. "I have for you a gift from the King. It is all we can spare, this time." She holds out a pouch.
