I rush down the stairs to see if I can steal my brothers seat next to mom. Unfortunately however, when I get to the table my brother is already planted in his seat. I have no choice but to sit in my own seat across from both of them.

They laugh and giggle with each other at the table—I start to get a bit angry as I watch my brother flirt with mom. I ponder, “Is something going on with them? Does mom allow him to do things too? Has he done more than I have?”. “Hey hun, are you ok?”, my mom says. “I’m fine, just thinking”, I reply. “You haven’t touched your food, eat up!”, she says in a cute tone.

I reluctantly eat my food as I stare intently at my mom and brother for the remainder of my meal.
