You figure swimming south, away from the United States, may be your best option.
Drifting with the current you can see where San Diego turns into Tijuana. You could try to get ashore there, make a new life for yourself in Mexico. You could also keep drifting with the current hoping to find some better place to land. Or you could just turn back north, even with all the possibility of danger.
