Your name is Luke, and by all accounts you live the American dream. You have been happily married to your wife for 25 years and have two beautiful daughters, 18 and 11, and a great son who is 16. You have everything you could ever want. One day at work, as you look up from your desk, an old man appears to you in your office. You are overwhelmed by the feeling that this man is God.
"God? What are you doing here? What's going on?"
"Luke, I have grown tired of this universe. Long ago, I had plans to destroy it and start anew. But I have changed my mind. You have lived a good life, and so I am granting you all of my powers and leaving you in control of the universe." God smiles at you.
"Oh, I don't need that. I'm very happy with my life," you explain.
"Well, I suppose I could just destroy this universe..."
"Okay! Fine! I accept your powers!" you exclaim.
"Excellent. Remember, don't use very much power initially. You need to become accustomed to the power before you can take on more advanced tasks." God's glowing hand reaches out to you, setting you alight. Boundless power surges through your flesh. Endless knowledge floods your mind. When you regain your senses, God is gone and you are alone in your office.
