The other tribute from your district is already talking to your mentor. Your mentor pulls out a chair for you, and continues giving you both some tips. "Lay low. Don't be arrogant. Do anything to extend your longevity. If you are still alive, then you haven't been eliminated. Also, don't risk everything on a special weapon or tool. Every year half of the kids get killed ten minutes in because they want the items in the cornucopia. If you flee right away, then you'll outlive many of the contestants without trying. Run away, find some water, and don't make a fire." It's dinner, and afterwards you go to bed. The next morning you get off of the train.
