You were a member of the child army that uses the vast network of chimneys as a base of operations, swarming from pipes and grabbing any scraps left on the streets when darkness falls. A good Sweep can get from one end of Britannica to the other without ever leaving a chimney, and you needed that skill many times to escape guards, policemen- and the strange beasts that use the tunnels for their own damned ends.
