Vampires' common traits :

>1.APPEARANCE : Pale skinned (it's quite impossible for them to get a suntan) , there's Always a reddish glow in a vampire's eye(tho it can be barely perceptible). Smooth hair - for some reason, vampire hair does not curl. Even if the human had curly hair before he/she was turned.

>2.PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SENSES : They're About as strong as your average gorilla, as fast and stealthy as a jaguar.

Their sense of smell is far better than a human's so they may show aversion to objects with a strong smell, have no particular weakness against garlic etc tho. Same goes for crucifixes etc. They don't have a strong enough nose to track someone down like a dog might(they have a Very keen nose for blood tho).

A vampires sight is sharper than a human's but can't compare to most predatory birds. Well-developped nightvision, but they can't see in total darkness. They can see in moonlight the way a human could in daylight.

>3.NOURISHMENT : Cannot survive without regular consumption of living blood (+/-weekly). Liable to go into a blood frenzy and kill their victim, older vampires generally learn some self control tho.

They prefer human blood, but can feed off animal blood (kind of like living on just bread & water for a lifetime)

A Vampire's hunger for blood is too much for any single human to satisfy on the long run. Vampires are able to enter a state of hibernation in which they can survive for over a century if necessary.

They have a hunting instinct that will compel them to hunt down frightened/fleeing prey. They also have the tendency to play with their prey like a cat with mice.

A vampire's fangs secrete an addictive aphrodisiac they can use to enslave humans and keep them around as willing food, it works on other vampires as well but they tend to be highly resistant.

>4.ENVIRONMENT : They DO have shadows and they DO appear in the mirror.

They have a very weak pulse, but enough to deceive any unsuspecting human.

They can breathe, but have no particular reason to do so and are unable to drown.

They can consume normal food but it tastes like shit and they will only end up vomiting it back out later.

Sunlight will greatly annoy them - Their eyes are too light-perceptive, Their skin has little resistance to suburns, they are unable to sweat and can't handle the heat... They will however, not go up in smoke nor catch fire.

They are vulnerable to fire and tend to avoid it, but won't die instantly from being hit with a torch or anything.

Artificial lighting is a pain when it's bright, but nowhere near as bad as sunlight.

Water/Rain/Cold have no significant meaning to vampires. They can feel the cold, and a young vampire might mistakenly think to be freezing, but they could perfectly walk around naked at -50°C without suffering any ill effects except for a reflexive shiver or two because their human minds are convinced it's too cold. Similarly, they could go for a leisurely walk on the bottom of a lake once they get over the human drowning reflex and realize they don't need air anyway. They are affected by water pressure much the same way as humans are tho.

Continuous exposure to water may deform their skin, so staying underwater for extended periods (2+ hours) is not recommended. Will go back to normal after spending some time away from the water.

>5.HYGIENE : They don't require skincare, haircare or other human hygienic necessities/beauty products. They can use them and they might have some effect, but essentially a vampire can completely ignore his/her hygiëne but will never develop a body odor or get their hair in a mess, in fact a Vampire's hair Always looks unnaturally smooth.

A vampire has no use for a toilet other than to puke out any human food they ate for whatever reason. Though, they are able to pee if they drank water or other non-blood liquids beforehand. Since they have no digestive system it's physically impossible for them to do a "nr2" on the toilet.

>6.HEALING/REGENERATION: A Vampire's wounds will only heal on consumption of blood or when the vampire actively uses their stored power to regenerate themselves. If they ignore their wounds, they will heal slower than a human's but with no chance of infection/further complications.

A Vampire's active healing speed can close a deep wound in seconds, regenerating an entire limb in a few minutes is however, not possible.

Vampires can feel pain much like a human would, though they tend to have more resistance against it / can keep their head cool when injured much easier.

A Vampire's wounds will bleed alot shortly after being inflicted, but will stop bleeding unnaturally fast.

>7.HERITAGE: Vampires are less "undead" than mutated/infected humans.

Turning someone into a vampire requires for the human to get vampire blood in/on their body, either trough consumption or getting their blood on their skin. There is no need for the human to be bit by the vampire, nor do they need to die and be reborn. There is no guarantee of a human turning into a vampire after consumption of/contact with vampire blood. Some may turn on their 5th or 6th attempt, others never turn no matter how much they try.

There's a significantly higher chance to turn on consumption of vampire blood, than merely getting it on you accidentally. if it gets directly in your bloodstream trough an open wound, it becomes a lethal poison either turning or killing the infected human.

Creating a new vampire does not give the vampire who turned them any real control over the new vampire. Most vampires were turned accidentally (preyed upon by a vampire, then left for dead.) Even if the body has taken considerable damage, it may turn into a vampire and heal up as if nothing ever happened should the human have come into contact with his/her attackers blood.
