"Cute boy like you?" the bear grins. "That's hard to believe."
You're definitely blushing now. You laugh.
"I'm Steve," he says, offering a hand across the gap between the tables. You take it, and shake, offering up your name. Then Steve pats the chair beside him, and you move over to his table.
"So why'd you pick The Midtown Pub for your birthday night?" he asks.
You can't quite meet his gaze when you admit the truth. "There's this ad for the place. The guy in it is, uh..."
"Oh, the bear one?" Steve laughs. "The hairy guy with the beer bottle?"
You nod. "Yeah."
Steve smiles at you. "So you're a chaser, eh?"
You blink. "Chaser?"
"Guys who like bears - but aren't bears - are chasers."
Oh. Well, that makes sense. "Yeah."
