You sit there in the dark with your eyes closed and meditate on the state of your life. It's good to just sit and think once in a while...
You're still sitting there in silence and darkness, half dozing, when the door opens. You don't get a chance to see the person who's opened it because they step into the booth with you before your eyes can readjust to the sudden light. Then it's dark again as the door swings shut and the newcomer sits down on your lap.
It's a woman. The scent of floral perfume tells you that much. Your stick rises to attention. Maybe this is a sign from someone...
