You place a waffle on Gabrielle's plate and one on your own, and sit down. You're quite hungry, so you dig in. Gabrielle nibbles at hers.

"Not hungry?" you inquire politely.

"You didn't answer my question, Professor," Gabrielle says.

"I have no idea what, if anything, happened last night," you tell her. "I didn't throw up, but I got almost as drunk as you."

"Oh." Gabrielle responds. "I don't remember either. I guess no one will ever know." She begins eating her waffle with more gusto.

You both consume several more waffles in silence. After your stomachs are both full, you rise and clear the table.

"Gabrielle?" you say, as you put the last dish in the sink.

She rises. "Yes, Professor?"
