You raised your arms to show him that you mean no harm as you tried to explain,

“No no no, I promise. It’s just… umm… right… why did you help me?”

Tim raised his eyebrows as he looked at you funny but answered anyway,

“It was the right thing to do, what else? Wait, how is this about me again?”

You nodded in response before answering him,

“Well, that’s exactly why I want to exchange number with you. It’s the right thing to do.”

Tim knitted his eyebrows as he crossed his arms over his chest,

“Explain.”

You unconsciously gulped as you realized that his crossing his arms actually made his arm muscles more pronounced, once again reminding you that he wasn’t not as frail as he looked,

‘If only he’d lose that dark rings around his eyes… they’re obscuring his eyes… and probably with some simple haircut… he’d be pretty decent… more than just decent, actually….’

You were snapped out of your thought when you heard Tim snapping his fingers at you,

“Hey princess, I haven’t got all day here. If you wanna talk, then talk… otherwise, I’m out of here.”

Realizing that you’ve been caught checking him out, you can’t help blushing which you quickly tried to cover with some forced awkward cough,

“Look, I just mean exactly what I said. You helped me although we don’t know each other that well. So I thought we should get to know each other better?”

Tim paused for a moment as if trying to decide if you’re telling the truth. Finally, he shrugged as he spoke,

“Well, whatever… it’s 222XXXXXXX.”

You entered his number then turned back to him,

“House phone?”

Tim shrugged as he replied,

“Not all of us can afford a Nokia.”

“Right… sorry….”

“Don’t mind it. Well, if that’s all, bye.”

You watched Tim turned the door and exited the infirmary while you followed not long after. You still needed to ask for leave from the cheerleading couch before leaving for home.
