"Kwan," you begin, "it was nice of you to bring us food, but what we really wanted-"

He nips your sneaker angrily. He is up on his hind legs, pointing at the both of you, then at the cheese.

''Eeeeeeep!''

"I think he really ''wants'' to eat it," Charmaine says fearfully. "Yuk..."

Kwan noses the cheese towards you. He keeps pointing at it. Then, he points at himself.

"What's he trying to tell us?" you wonder aloud.

''Eeeeeep!''

"Maybe..." Charmaine swallows, a hard choking sound, "maybe we have to eat it if we're going to escape!"

"Rubbish!" you laugh.

''Eeeeeeeeep!'' the little rat insists.

Without warning, he nips your finger.

"Ouch!"

"Leng..." Charmaine picks up the cheese and holds it towards you, "I think you'd better take a bite..."

You glare at the bright yellow goo. It stinks. You could see the little ratty tooth marks in it. You think you are going to puke.
