Arms stretched out in front of you, you feel your way to your right, toward the sound of dripping. You hope the sound will lead you to a source of water, and maybe to an exit.

Your hands hit a rough-hewn rock wall, halting your progress. The drip still sounds as if it is somewhere to your right so you feel your way along to wall with your left hand, stretching your right hand blindly toward the sound of your salvation. Your tongue is so dry you can hardly swallow and all you can think about is the relief a drink of cool water would bring. Your feet shuffle and scrape on the rock floor of what you presume to be some sort of cave.

'''Smack!'''Your forehead strikes something, startling you. You reach up and feel a rough cone of minerals hanging from the ceiling in front of you. A stalactite, probably. Your hands come away wet with a sheen of mineral water. The dripping is much louder now. Likely a nearby stalactite is dripping water into a shallow pool. Your heart sinks, both because a shallow pool is not as likely to lead to an exit as an underground river would be, and also because you hear strange guttural noises ahead of you and the sound of clawed feet scraping against rock. You appear to have attracted the attention of the unknown denizens of this cave.
