Out of the turbolift came someone Dax had never seen before. She was a
Trill, short with brown hair, wearing black leather pants and coat, along with a black shirt.

"You must be her, come with me," the woman commanded. Dax followed her to the turbolift and they started downwards. It was quiet until Jadzia decided to break the silence.

"I don't think we've met on the other side."

"Oh really?" the brunette answered, clearly uninterested in making conversation. Never moving her head or eyes from looking straight forward.

After a few seconds, Dax tried again.

"I'm Jadzia Dax...what's your name?"

"It's Ezri."

"Where are we going Ezri?"

"Back to my quarters, we'll eat lunch there."

"Oh, ok," Jadzia said nervously.

It was quiet again for a few moments until Dax became irritated as they stepped out of the turbolift.

"Do you have a problem with me Ezri?"

"No, it's not you. Just this damned war...and people."

"Did you lose someone close to you?"

"No!" Ezri replied quickly, "We went different ways in the war. I've been pretty tense since then."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

They walked down the corridor of the habitat ring until walking into Ezri's quarters. They replicated food for the midday meal and sat down. Lunch was quiet except for the occasional request for a condiment. Afterwards, they sat down on the living room couch.

"Is there anything that I can do to make you feel better Ezri?" Jadzia asked.

"Humph. I don't think there's anything ''you'' can do to help me."

Without hesitation Jadzia went over to Ezri, put her mouth to hers and started kissing her. At the same time, Jadzia climbed onto Ezri's lap and ran her fingers through her short, wavy hair.

When the kiss broke, Ezri asked, "How did you know?"

"Let's just say I'm a good guesser," she smiled.

"I hope you're willing to follow up on what you've started Jadzia."
