Being a vampire is exactly as you’ve always fantasized about it. Your new senses allow you to hear whispers two floors above you, smell the perfume of a that whore on the other side of the road, you can see without light. Your fangs even retracted are still sharp as razor. You love this. You’re going to live forever and nobody is going to tell you what to do anymore.

When you reach you’re building you feel strange. All your new powers and lust seem to withdraw in front of the miserable life you had before.

“Hey Mrs. Dracula, don’t you know it’s too late to be alone on the streets?”

The man just came out of the shadows of a nearby alley. He smells alcohol and he’s wielding a knife. 

“Give me you fucking money or I’ll slash your cunt”

For a moment there is silence, you stare at him and he stares back. A couple is fighting in an apartment across the street; a dog is barking a couple of streets away.

“Didn’t you hear me? I said give the money”

You growl at him.

“What are you gonna do? Bite me?”

His lifeless body laying in the alley, you climb on the fire escape. You crawl into your apartment through the window of the room you share with your brother. He’s sleeping like a log. You hear your mother snoring on the couch with the TV on. The air is filled with alcohol. 

Killing the ganger awakened your thirst.
