I turned away, not caring to look at the man anymore. I could hear him call after me, trying to stop me, but he gave up when I stepped back onto the concealed path once more. ''I don't have time for you''. 

Part of me wandered if perhaps I shouldn't have turned my back on the man, but I had no desire for any more company. I followed the concealed path to its end, until it finally opened up out into a small clearing. Ash clogged the ground of the clearing, grabbing at my feet and slowing down my progress. Scowling, I tried my best to refrain from groaning in disgust at the way the ash clung to my clothing. It was quite unsightly, and it truly revolted me in every sense of the word. Eventually, I managed to break through the clearing to cross to the outsides of the clearing. 

''I'm finally out of the woods'', I thought to my pleasant surprise. As I gazed skywards, I could see that the hour was late, and I had no idea how to return to the main path from here. Off in the distance, I could see a small hovel. It looked like it had been ransacked recently, but I reasoned it would be as a good a place to spend the night as any. 

I wandered inside, as the door was destroyed by some sort of blunt force. Glass littered the lawn in front of the window, and I had to take great pains to avoid stepping on the glass.
