Go for a swim in the moat

You hop down into the moat, splashing loudly when you hit the water.

"What are you doing?" the prince asks.

"Having a swim," you say. "What does it look like?"

Then the first alligator bites your arm off. You don't get a chance to scream, because the second alligator rips your throat out. The other five alligators fight over choice bits of you but by then you're too dead to care.
