One... two... three... four... five... Now!

You pull on the string and your parachute deploys instantly, slowing your fall. Then, almost instantly, your aviator's boots hit the ground so hard that you almost sprain your ankle. You unstrap the parachute, draw your pistol and look around, half expecting yourself to be surrounded by Germans. Luckily, you are alone in an open field with knee-high grass. The searchlights, still busily scrying the night sky, are in an old roofless barn a few hundred yards away; the operators apparently did not see you land.

There is a road not too far from where you are, and it appears to lead in the general direction of the drop zone.
