Take a bite out of the tentacle

You bite down on a tentacle. It's tough and rubbery and your teeth cannot penetrate it. The octopus, however, must feel something because it lifts you out of the water and throws you for distance. You fly a good long ways and come to a rough landing on a strip of deserted beach.
You lie on the sand for a while to recover. You're a little bruised from the impact, but otherwise intact. You're not sure where you are relative to where you started, though.
