"Let's head out into the wilderness," you say. "There won't be anything but zombies in town."

"Agreed," says Annabelle. "Fewer people, fewer zombies."

It is a harsh life in the desert, but thanks to you and Annabelle both being talented at combat and survival, you are able to make it. You live like the hunter-gatherers of old, eventually getting used to your new routine. Days turn into weeks, then months, then years.

Eventually, scientists are able to come up with a cure that turns zombies back into humans. After they distribute it around the world, life gradually returns to normal. You and Annabelle go back to your old lives, and you even move back into your same apartment.

As you work on your taxes one April evening, you pause and sigh longingly as you think back of your years in the desert wilderness. You miss it, in a way. No rules, no orders, no taxes...

You sigh again as you turn back to your computer. Not everything about the zombie apocalypse was bad.
