The stings are surprisingly painful. You drop quickly down from the tree and brush away the remaining bees. There might be honey in the hive, but to suffer too hard for it would be pointless.

"Don't blame you," says the old woman. "I tried it, didn't fancy the odds. Two thousand to one." The light is fading. It's time to move on.
