As Jennifer is left on the sidewalk, the Doc explains the chain of events that led to your family's downfall.
Marty Jr was approached by Griff Tannen and his gang and asked to join a robbery. The robbery was foiled and Marty Jr took the fall. His sister was then arrested for trying to break him outta prison.
The Doc's plan is for you to impersonate your son and tell Griff you won't join in his robbery. The Doc gives you future wear to help your disguise.
