"FUCK that," you snarl. "I won't let you turn me into a monster."
The demon smirks. "It's your funeral." With that, a red glow appears from his hands. He points it at you. The glow envelops you, but you don't feel a thing.
"What the fuck?" the monster snarls.
You figure that your heroic defiance has made it impossible for the demon to steal your soul. The undead Inca warlord can still kill you, and does so by shooting a fireball at you. Your last thought before you burn to death is hope that this one soul that he failed to capture will make him weak enough that he can eventually be defeated.
