You stand there, content with the fact that you've saved a little boy. You watch the injured drag themselves from the destroyed pizzeria, and despite the calls for help, you do nothing.

When the last of your two minutes has worn away, everything around you stops. It's as though time itself has frozen, and you're the only one aware of it.

The fires no longer flicker and spread through Y-NOT Pizza, the injured cease limping from the building, and the building itself no longer appears to be falling apart.

"Thank you... You have saved the life of that child, and although I wish you had done more, I will accept that you have done all that you felt necessary," a voice says, coming from the alleyway not too far away. You recognize it as the voice from an hour ago when you signed that contract.

You follow the sound of the voice to its' source and find, waiting for you in the alleyway floating a few feet off the ground, is some kind of spirit. It consists of a hooded white cloak with a featureless, black porcelain-like mask where a face should be. In the eye sockets of the mask you can see only white voids, and sense within them a powerful malevolence and deep hatred for you.

"So what happens now?" you ask as you step into the alleyway.

"You have a choice to make," it responds, "You've fulfilled your end of the contract, but I do not wish to force anything upon you especially if you may not truly want it. Therefore I present you with a choice: would you like me to restore you to life, or would you rather I allow you to pass on to the afterlife? Please think it over, do not make this choice lightly."

You consider your options: to live, or to die. Which one do you truly want? You have a tough decision to make.

The End: You've saved the life of a young boy, though you could have done so much more. You are now faced with the choice of returning to life, or passing on into the afterlife... but that is another story entirely.
