"Yeah," you say. "Fuck this." You put the car in drive and head out of the parking lot. You'll have to find food and water elsewhere. You turn back out onto the road and drive down to the sporting goods store.

Along the way, you pass a burning house, only to see two people stumble out the front door, completely engulfed in flames. A third person comes out after them wielding a large axe, and both you and Melanie avert your eyes. The less you see, the better. The town has gone nuts.

You pull into the lot and find it's mostly empty. Melanie unbuckles her seat belt and points through the windshield. She starts to speak, but as soon as she opens her mouth you hear a scream from across the light. You flip the wipers on to clear the windshield and see a girl running from the front of the store, chased by two men.

"Shit," you mutter, gripping your flashlight. Before you can say anything else, Melanie leaps from the passenger side and goes running for the girl. One of the men breaks off and grabs her, and you struggle to understand what the fuck she thought she was doing. You step out of the car into the rain, gripping the flashlight backwards. The men begin dragging the women in opposite directions. If you're going to save either of them, you have to act fast.
