Now that I think about it, Dr. Lewis is the best choice by far. Not only will she probably want to help me, but I know exactly where I will find her. I quickly jog towards her office and knock at the door. After no response, I realize that I hear papers rustling in ''Dr. Harrison's'' office. I'm a tad surprised, but I move a couple steps over to knock at his door instead. I hear her breathing quicken as she responds, "Umm... Just a minute." Due to my training and experience, I can't help but be a bit suspicious at this point. Not only is she rifling through his belongings, but she is perhaps nervous that someone wants to talk to her. Maybe I was too quick to eliminate her just because she has no powers...

She opens the door. Her face looks... terrified. "I thought for sure you would still be questioning the others." I scan her and the room as she talks. She is both younger and prettier than I expected. That can be quite a disarming combination. Both can cause a man to underestimate her dangerousness. And the fact she has no powers may have already led me astray. I really hope this doesn't turn into a normal case with no powers involved. That would be really lame. Still, her actions force me to consider this possibility. I am in no rush to speak. Silence can be a surprisingly powerful tool. I continue to scan my surroundings as she offers an explanation. "Umm... I thought I could use this opportunity to catch-up on Reiner's notes. There was a lot he wouldn't share, even with me." She claims she was catching up on Dr. Harrison's notes, but by observation I can tell she has been looking for something specific. I would also say she has not yet found it and she does not want me to know what it is.

Let's see... I know the victim was Dr. Reiner Harrison. From the picture at his death, he had dark, greasy hair. I doubt that is relevant, but you never know... Mid-40s, average height, olive complexion, somewhat exotic looking yet plain at the same time. A little on the heavy side. Wearing the typical white coat. Although the room was left mostly the same after he was found, his body has been cleared-out for forensics, so the picture may be important. Probably a waste of time to send him to forensics though... the murderer may not have even been in the same room. Of course that is what makes this so fun for me.

He was crushed by some sort of large chamber. A normal human could not possibly have moved it... but of course the suspects are not normal humans... I don't know the medical aspects too well, but I think all the bleeding was internal as his coat is still white and there were no traces of blood anywhere.

That covers the who and the what... Well, the who of the victim anyways. We are pretty sure that something ''unusual'' took place so the powers that each of the suspects possess will be important clues. Martin seems pretty unlikely. As far as I know reading minds does not allow him to move heavy objects. Besides, I can't imagine him killing anyone. Unless you can irritate someone to death.

Motive. Of course the motive may develop as I learn more about the suspects, but all of them had some shared motive. Obviously Dr. Harrison was experimenting on them. I hear a slightly different story from everyone I talk to. Some say he wanted to help them enhance their powers, some say remove them, some say help develop them in others. The bottom line is that none of them were here willingly, and he stood in the way of their freedom. I try to forget the fact that it is I that currently bars their freedom. And I am helpless against some of them. I must be careful not to share the fate of Dr. Harrison. I hope the fact that I treat them like humans and not lab rats will save me his end.

I think I've spent enough time with Martin. Not that it was completely unenjoyable but it has been an hour already. Even though I am sure he has the information I need, he does not seem to plan on giving it to me. At the very least not directly or easily and I need to make some progress on this case. Let's see... I glance down at my notes.

Sheila - brunette, 40s, female, superstrength 
Walter - brown hair, 30s, male, invisibility 
Randy - red hair, 20s, male, pyrokinetic 
Dorothy - white hair, 9, female, telekinetic 

Martin seems quite unlikely. The victim was crushed by a chamber no human could move and telepathy won't help. Sheila is a possibility. Clearly strong enough to move the chamber... but she would have needed to operate in plain sight. It is important that I not assume anything though. It is possible she did operate in plain sight. After all, the others may not have done it, but I doubt many of them are sad that Dr. Harrison is dead and probably would not have stopped her. Walter can't be completely eliminated. Invisability wouldn't have made him strong enough but I don't know the limits of his power and I have a hard time trusting what can't be seen. Randy seems pretty unlikely as well. No evidence of fire. Of course there could have been supports under the chamber that were completely melted without a trace. I can't quite cross him off yet. Dorothy would have had the easiest time with the murder. She could have moved the chamber and acted in plain sight, but she's only 9 years old.

"So Ollie, know who did it yet?" Martin smirked at me as he asked this completely pointless question. Well... I suppose teasing me is a point. For him, at least.

Although I introduced myself as "Special Agent Morgan," he insists on calling me, "Ollie." Of course, he ''knew'' that I didn't know yet... He knew my name without me telling him. He knew it bothered me to be called "Ollie." And I'm almost sure he knows exactly who did it. How could he not? He also seems to derive great amusement from using his powers to annoy me. Some would be quite vexed to see "gifts" used so frivalously, but when I think about it, this may be the only joy he knows... I see him frown at that thought and his eyes sadden. I know so much about him, it almost seems his telepathy works both ways... At that thought, he forces a small grin, as if thanking me for having had it and he is visibly amused by me thinking that I could read ''his'' thoughts. He regains his casual, smirky, resistant attitude, so I recover my harsh countenance. I suppose I have no need to be rough with him, but at the same time, he knows it is an act. Merely one tool of investigation...

"You know I don't," I bark. Despite how irritating this guy is, I can't help but like him. The worst part is, he knows I like him. Obviously I can't treat him differently, but in a way I have no choice but.

I check my watch and realize I have already been here for an hour and know very little.

==Creating a Story==
If you have an idea for a story, you might like to try [[Idea Pitches|pitching your idea to other users]] and seeing how interested people might be in playing your story, what you could do to make playing your story fun, and who might be interested in collaborating with you to write it. Once you have done that, you can create it by entering your desired name for the Story into the search box and clicking '''Go'''. If the name has not already been taken, click this exact title to start the story. There are three general types of story. The first is the branching-plot story (an example of this is the Choose Your Own Adventure series of gamebooks), which require the reader to make choices but are otherwise like a regular novel. The second type is the role-playing game adventure, which combines the branching-plot novel with simple role-playing rules such as attack points and monster battles. The third type is the trivia quiz, where the player must answer questions as if they were on a game show.

The next to the last line here is the ''status indicator''. The status indicator shown here is the ''basic'' status indicator. Different stories use different status indicators, and some use none at all. Look at the edit screen for the page you're starting from and copy that status indicator to the new page you're adding. Modify as necessary.

Every page should have the category at the bottom. This keeps track of all the pages in the story. You can copy the category line from the previous page to the one you're working on. The category, obviously, is ''never'' 'name of story you're working on'. You type in the actual name of the story.

*Don't give too many options when starting a new story and leave half of them redlinked. Focus on a small number of story threads at first.
*Outline a general plan for what the intention of your story is when you start it: What genre and themes it belongs to.

People have a tendency to create branches where the character dies. To prevent the story from being just a tree with all dead ends:
*For each page where you kill the player's character, you must create at least 2 pages (with content) where s/he can go on.
*Please stick to the theme and setting of the story, and discuss ideas for major changes on the discussion pages. Although creativity is encouraged, radical plot changes and inconsistencies will ruin the flow.
*If something is off topic, remove it.
*Try to capitalize and spell your words correctly.
