Pokemon: Start at the Pokemon Trainer's Academy

There are 20 possible character you can be depending on your starter.

You are ten years old. Today's your first day at the academy.
Most of the kids applying don't have a Pokemon yet. And neither do you!
There are about 20 kids applying. Including some of your friends. But right now you need to focus on getting a Pokemon.
"Who wants to go first?" Asks the lady at the front of the room. your hand shoots up like a rocket.
"I guess you can go first," She says pointing at you. Your heart pounds as you walk to the table.

You have chosen Shinx, your favorite Pokemon. You've always had a certain affinity for electric type Pokemon, most likely due to your older sister's Pikachu that you had a strong bond with before coming to the training academy. You hope that you can befriend your Shinx as easily as you befriended that Pikachu.
You sit in your seat and wait for the rest of the Pokemon to be chosen by your classmates. You swing your legs and twiddle your thumbs. The white button on the pokeball is tempting. You contemplate nicknames for your Shinx. You suppose it would help to know whether the Shinx is a boy or a girl, but the easiest way to determine that would be to let it out of its pokeball. However, you may get scolded and chastised for that.
