You run at him with your basic sword, hoping to get him in between the eyes. Leaping over his arm, you stab into his armour heavily causing a great groan to come from you. Kobold readied his mace and prepared to attack you!

"Get down from there!" cried a dozen voices, but you ignored them all and thrust your sword deeper into him.

Then all is over, a red sign pops up and you feel life sleep away from you. Kobold had struck you with his mace.

During the attack your longsword breaks into two and your armour falls to pieces as well.

Using the heel of your foot, you leap to parry Kobold's incoming attack. This simple defense movement causes you to lose 25 health, an obscured amount to lose but you grit your teeth and bare it!

A hooded player commanded you to step aside, "Let me take Kobold! Stand down Mika!" they read your username, but you didn't budge one bit!

Underneath you saw Tetsuo and his friend being dragged to safety by a few players which gives you comfort knowing you have saved a life. You strike a few more times, attacking underneath the knight's armpits as red shards, (that represented blood) came down from the wound. Kobold gave a horrid roar before sweeping his weapon across the floor to take out some of the soldiers. An opening chance! A perfect chance!

Using your basic sword, you ran it deep into the eye-shaft for Kobold, causing the boss to wail a terrifying scream. The boss' health dropped dramatically before exploding into a million red shards, symbolizing its death.

Several players already began the ascent to the next floor, including the hooded character and Heathcliff who paid no attention to your stunning victory. Tetsuo and his friend came up to you, "Thank you for saving our lives!" they bowed before you, expressing great thanks and satisfaction, but they soon left to pursue the next floor of Sword Art Online.

Taking a deep breath, you too join them.

The Labyrinth was packed with over two hundred players taking out the multiple mobs which surrounded the dungeon's gate. An army of around a hundred was making their way to the boss room, led by General Heathcliff, an infamous player who had already achieved level 20 according to legend!

At the boss' door, he turned around and gave a look to ever member of his army, including you who had someone slipped in. "Men of Aincrad! Now is the time where we flee this wretched game and return to the real world, this is a game of death and together we can defeat it and live out the rest of our days in the real world!" the other players gave encouraging shouts, raising their weapons into the air. "So let us take on this boss and win, let us head to level two of Aincrad and defeat Kayaba at his own game!"

They all cheered at their fabled leader, but the sounds died when the door opened to reveal a large knight that stood around 12 feet tall. "Oh crap!" whispered a player by the name of Tetsuo who unsheathed his spear and ran full charge at Kobold, the first boss of the game. The mace of Kobold swung round to strike Tetsuo in the chest, throwing him down onto the floor with only 10 health remaining.

"Tetsuo!" cried one of his team-mates who ran to his aid, thrusting a healing crystal into his comrades arms, "Use it! Use it now!" he yapped like a dog but was interrupted by Kobold readying his mace, preparing to strike them both!

Three of the men's health swam down to the red, with one falling into nothing. Then the player, Tetsuo, lay still for a moment as he was dying. Nobody moved, some watched Kobold whilst others could not avert their eyes from the dying player. Finally, after ten seconds, Tetsuo exploded into a million shards of an array of colours.

"The first casualty of the game," a player declared but heard a grunting noise coming from behind.

Heathcliff was slicing Kobold's mace with his blade, causing rivets and crevices to form alongside the handle. When he was too tired, he switched out for the same hooded character Mika saw at the market!

The rapier this strange figure held was long and slender, but enough to kill the creature. The hood was pulled back slightly to reveal long, flowing chestnut hair from a...girl!? She gave a wail then sliced Kobold's armour into a large cut, revealing a faded eye.

Then the boss fell down, white noise filled Mika's ears as he heard the dying wail of Kobold. The boss exploded into red shards and over a thousand exp was given out to all the players who took part.

Outside of the town is an expansive grassland, filled with boars that munch on the grass underfoot.

You wander around a little bit, getting a brief idea on how the landscape was mapped out. A few floating islands caught your fancy, but sadly your swimming skill was not good enough to climb up them to gain the treasure. You see another player tried to slice a boar with their lance, but they miss and are taken back with 15 health gone.

You rush to his aid, thrusting your basic sword out and engage in combat with the angry boar. It gives out a rough snort before charging at you with the bold red eyes, its tusk throw up some dirt in the air but you ignore it. With a downwards slash, the boar explodes into a multitude of coloured particles and leaves behind its rump.

1 boar down, 2 boars down, 5 boars down! You're on a roll! 10 boars down, 20 boars down! '''You have achieved level 3''' Rage builds up inside you and you slash another one down! Maybe this game might be easy after all.

Now filled with courage, you decide to take on the boss in the first level's dungeon!

The dungeon known as Labyrinth was filled with other players slaying the mobs which surrounded the entrance. You walked straight past them and down the staircase, to the bowels of the first floor where you await the encounter with the boss.

Over a hundred men wait by the door, most of them a weak level 2 as they clutch their swords tightly. One man, with the username Heathcliff, led the charge as he gave an encouraging speech.

"Men of Aincrad! Now is the time where we flee this wretched game and return to the real world, this is a game of death and together we can defeat it and live out the rest of our days in the real world!" the other players gave encouraging shouts, raising their weapons into the air. "How?" cried one player with brown bangs covering her eyes. Some players ran out of the room, screaming for help and assistance but you maintain your ground.

The boss, who's true name was Kobold, swung his mace into five players who amassed over 50 health gone! "What on earth?" you gritted your teeth and prepared your longsword, what do you do?

The dungeon known as Labyrinth was filled with other players slaying the mobs which surrounded the entrance. You walked straight past them and down the staircase, to the bowels of the first floor where you await the encounter with the boss.

Over a hundred men wait by the door, most of them a weak level 2 as they clutch their swords tightly. One man, with the username Healthcliff, led the charge as he gave an encouraging speech.

"Men of Aincrad! Now is the time where we flee this wretched game and return to the real world, this is a game of death and together we can defeat it and live out the rest of our days in the real world!" the other players gave encouraging shouts, raising their weapons into the air. You ignore him, instead you head to the plains outside to take on a dozen boars. The area around you is bright green meadows, filled with sweet dandelions and daisies. A few large, purple boars start munching on them before they get a sniff of you!

They charge at you, the icon above their head a bold red as you swing the longsword around to slice up their neck. Then the frenzy boars erupt into a plume of confetti as the battle is won! Numerous messages pop up:

Outside of the town is an expansive grassland, filled with boars that munch on the grass underfoot.

You wander around a little bit, getting a brief idea on how the landscape was mapped out. A few floating islands caught your fancy, but sadly your swimming skill was not good enough to climb up them to gain the treasure. You see another player tried to slice a boar with their lance, but they miss and are taken back with 15 health gone.

You rush to his aid, thrusting your basic sword out and engage in combat with the angry boar. It gives out a rough snort before charging at you with the bold red eyes, its tusk throw up some dirt in the air but you ignore it. With a downwards slash, the boar explodes into a multitude of coloured particles and leaves behind its rump.

Another player was also inspecting items for sale, they pondered at a rapier and bought it with fifty gold. The hooded player caught a brief sight of you before running off into the wilderness.

The shops were packed with food, armour, arrows and hundreds of different swords. One NPC smiled warmly at you, "Hey there! Would you like to buy something from my shop, only the finest items in the entire game!" He gave you a wink as you inspected the things on offer.

There was a satchel filled with feathered arrows, worth 10 gold for twenty.

Another had a long, steel-forged longsword which was perfect for cutting up boars in the nearby field. This amazing weapon was over 70 gold, an interesting offer.

The final item on offer was three loaves of bread for 20 gold, enough to sustain life and hunger for a journey to the next level.

In the middle of your thoughts, a crowd of buyers tried to intervene, making it only possible for you to buy a single item at the shop! Or maybe all of them, if you were greedy?

She threw herself up, grabbing the hammer in an attacking stance, "Get back away from me, you creep!" It seemed that Lisbeth was holding back the tears of her own, "Or else I'll...I'll..."

You think quick on your heels but eventually come up with something, "You know you can't kill players in a safe zone! Heck, even killing players will make you go red!" he pointed to the little green icon that floated above her head.

Lisbeth seemed confused, gazing up to notice it, "Huh?" Then she gave a small, shy smile on her face, "Haha! I guess you're alright!"
