Luckily, you have spotted the squirrel before the others have. You slowly sneak up on the squirrel, your teeth just aching to dig into flesh...

You jump on the squirrel and bite hard. The squirrel is dead in a bite. Your father notices and laughs, scaring off the beetle. "Now that is what I mean by sharpen, pups. Isis here is practicing hunting by killing this squirrel. Keep this up, she can be a pretty strong wolf!" He says, looking into your eyes.

You have made him proud... and you continue to make him proud as you grow up. You hunt squirrels and other creatures and chew on bones until you have very strong teeth and muscles. You are one of the strongest wolves in your pack.

So, you gain one of the five awesome skills in the story (the bold one is the one you received):

Bluedragon:

You decide to impress your father. Luckily, the other pups have not yet spotted the beetle.

You instinctively step into a stalking position, slowly sneaking up on the beetle as quietly as you can. Once you are close enough you hop on the beetle and kill it.

You feel a warm sensation blossom inside you. He is proud... and you want him to continue to be proud!

So as you grow up you silently sneak up on beetles and other creatures. Soon you become one of the most stealthiest, sneakiest wolves in the pack. And you have earned one skill from the five awesome skills available:

Chase the Butterfly

Even though it flutters away from the group, you run after it. Luckily it turns right back to the group, so you aren't in much serious trouble. But a deep voice stops you from chasing and you whip your head towards the sound. You see a male wolf. You recognize him as your father, yet you have never seen him before. You and the other puppies run to him.

"Hello, pups. I am your father and the Male Leader of the pack." He smiles. Your mother sits next to him. "Wow! You're the leader?" You blurt out.
"Both me and your mother. But long ago I wasn't the leader. In fact, I was born in a different pack." He says.

You are all confused. "You were born in a different pack?" One of your sisters asks. "Yes. Leaders of a pack were all born in different packs. Let me explain." Your father says.

"Sometimes, when wolves grow old enough, they decide to leave their packs. They are then known as lone wolves. Some stay lone, others seek out a mate to start a pack with. Me and your mother were both lone wolves when we met, and decided to start a pack. So, all the older wolves in our pack are your older brothers and sisters. We are all related." Your father explained.

Wow. You've learned much more about your own species today. You begin to wonder if you should stay in your pack or leave when you're old enough...

"But, of course, you shouldn't think about what you want to do now. You should enjoy being a pup while you can." Your father says.

The butterfly you chased earlier comes fluttering back. You begin to chase after it. Over the next few days, you chase butterflies. Then you begin to chase other creatures. As you grow up, your endurance builds, and you begin to get faster. You are soon faster then all of the other wolves, and have the strongest endurance, as you chase things.

Because you chased that one butterfly, you have gained two of the five awesome skills you will get in being a wolf (the ones in bold are your current skills):

Bluedragon:

You begin to bark for help. Perhaps one of your pack-mates will find you and save you. You continue to call for help, but no one is coming. Then the smell hits your nose again, the scent you had smelt back at the cave. You hear something big breathe behind you. You turn around to see a big bear, and he is very hungry. Your calls have attracted a predator. Screaming, you try to run but you trip. Laying on the ground, you watch as the bear swings one paw up. He is about to swat at you, but then you see your mother fly out of nowhere.

She clamps her mouth on the bear's neck, her teeth sinking into his flesh. Her claws dig into the bear's body. The bear roars and tries to shake her off. You get up and stand, paralyzed, and watch in horror.

Your mother stops biting the bear for a second to say: "RUN! RUN, ISIS! RUN!" But you aren't sure where to run. You then find your mother's scent trail. You figure you can just follow it backwards to the den. But as you begin to run, you hear the bear roar and your mother yelp. You turn around to see your now weak mother hanging on for dear life to the bear's neck.

"Mother?" You bark.

Your mother loses your grip and falls on the ground.

"Mother!"

The bear raises his paw.

"MOTHER!"

-few days later-

Your father brings you and your siblings some meat. Your father is now in charge of taking care of you and your littermates. You sigh as you eat the meat and you sadly saunter away from the group, looking at the sun set. One of your brothers walk up to you, growling, "It's your fault mother died. If only you waited to go outside with her." He nips at your face and walks away. You blame yourself... all the pain that you are going through right now, all because of yourself. You look up to see a young golden eagle flying. She seems sad, like she has lost someone too. You understand how she feels. You watch her fly away, fade into the setting sun...

Good job. You've ruined your puphood. But, I guess watching your mother die in front of your own eyes isn't as bad as what you will experience as an adult. And besides, you got one of the five awesome skills (the one in bold is the one you have received):

Endurance (How long you can fight and run without being tired)

You ignore her growls, stop running, begin to stare at the sights. You see butterflies flying around, you can smell the other wolves from your pack, and you see tress, grass, rocks...

But your mother has come out of the den, picks you up, and brings you back inside. "Isis!" She snarls. "You should of waited until I told you to come back inside! Imagine if you kept running away. You could of been hurt!" She growls at you.

"I'm sorry, mother." You say.

"Yes you are. And we are not going outside today. I have learned that you are not yet ready to go outside. We will go out tomorrow.

The other puppies groan. Some of them give you an evil look.

The next day, you all get to go outside, except you are closely watched by your mother and she freaks out every time you get a little too far from her.

You see a butterfly, and it's fluttering away from the rest of the group. you might get in serious trouble if you stray from the group. What do you do?

You enter the right path. You keep walking until you've reached an open clearing. You see many grown wolves. They all wear worried faces. You see one wolf, your father, is extremely scared and is pacing back and forth. Then you see your siblings.

You have found your pack! They are all worried because you are lost. You run towards them, barking, "I'm here! I'm here!". Everyone's worried face is washed off, and everyone is happy that you're okay. You notice your mother isn't here, though.

"Where's mother?" You ask.

"She went looking for you!" One of your brothers reply.

She's out there, still looking for you. Worried, you bound across the clearing and head to the forest, but before you can your father steps in the way. "You fool! You'll die out there! Lucky you even are alive! Now go back to the den!" He snarls. "But... but mother's out there!" You protest. "I have to find her!"

"I said to go back to the den!" Your father snarls more harshly. You follow his orders and run back to the den, and watch as your father howls. A few seconds after his howl is over, you hear you mother howl back. After a moment she arrives, very dirty, her fur messed up. Your father and mother nuzzle each other for a moment, and then they walk back. You see the sun is setting and the stars are beginning to come out.

Your mother is not in a good mood, but she is glad to see you are okay. "Pups, get back in the den. We will play outside tomorrow." She growls. You and your siblings go back inside. You look at your father one last time as you walk inside.

"I am very disappointed in you, Aiattaua." He growls, and walks away. You sigh and walk in the den.

Of course, you have much more happier memories throughout your puphood. And from this experience, you've gained a skill:

You enter the middle path. You continue to walk until you find a carcass of a rabbit. You realize how hungry you are and walk over to eat it. Suddenly, you hear a growling. You turn around to see a coyote. You try to run, but it's too late. The coyote attacks and you are dead.

And, as you are eaten by the coyote, miles away, a wolf pup is born...

Bluedragon:

Your curiosity gets the best of you and you quietly sneak deeper into the territory. You see a small group of older wolves discussing something, far away from the pack. You sneak towards them, and then silently eavesdrop on their conversation.

"I... I saw them. Around the West Lake." Says one of the wolves. There is blood all over him, and you see many cuts, bruises, and thorns. His eyes were wet with tears. You notice a dead wolf laying a few feet away from the group. You notice there is blood all over the dead wolf's chest.

"Surely they can't be here now." Said one of the wolves. He looked very beat up and had scars all over his body. He must of been in many fights over the years. His flicks his left ear, which has an odd shaped hole on the tip. "See this ear? They attacked it years ago. I was so angry that I attacked back. They were cowards and left. I thought they would never come back." He says.

"But they are back! I saw them. T-they...they sounded just like another wolf. Me and Taiomah got closer to investigate... and then suddenly, Taiomah... there was blood everywhere, it was almost like his heart exploded in his chest, and he fell to the ground. I tried to grab him, but then they attacked me... I ran and didn't look back. I kept running back here, through thorn bushes and sharp rocks... I didn't care... they didn't kill me like they kill Taiomah..."

You notice one of the wolves has blood over his mouth. He speaks. "You're lucky they didn't take your friend. I was actually brave enough to drag him back." He seems much more rude than the other wolves. "Not like I care. It was probably best for him to die, Taiomah was just a useless brat since the day he was born. I'm not sure why I didn't leave him to rot." He spits.

The wounded wolf growls. "Don't talk about Taiomah like that!" He snarls. His fur bristles, and you step back. Then the wounded wolf calms down, tears coming to his eyes. "You don't understand, Wapaheo. No one understood him." He says sadly, looking at the dead wolf you assume is Taiomah.

Then, The oldest of the wolves speaks. "Ouray, I understand you were close friends with Taiomah. He was a good wolf and did nothing wrong, even if his attitude was a bit intolerable at times. He will be missed. But, as leader of this pack, I will tell you all that this is just one wolf. Even if they have come back, we have even bigger problems. A female bear lives nearby and threatens us all."

So that cave you found was a bear cave. Good thing you didn't enter, you probably would of got eaten up.

"The coyote population is increasing, and they are harmful to our pups. And with that bear around, I expect the bear population to increase too. All this information just tells us not to go to the West Lake, and then our only problems will be the bears and coyotes." The leader says.

"But... but father..." Ouray stutters. "There were so many... and when there are many... then many wolves are wanted."

The leader sits and thinks for a while. "If they grow into a big threat, we may have to move to the R-" He says. He sniffs. "What is it?" One of the wolves asks. The leader doesn't answer. Then, after a moment of silence, he says, "Nothing." You realize he has smelt you and you quietly walk away.

You see the pups playing with their mother. That could be you right now. Then, you suddenly remember that you are supposed to be looking for your den.

You have found your pack! They are all worried because you are lost. You run towards them, barking, "I'm here! I'm here!". Everyone's worried face is washed off, and everyone is happy that you're okay. You notice your mother isn't here, though.

"Where's mother?" You ask.

"She went looking for you!" One of your brothers reply.

She's out there, still looking for you. Worried, you bound across the clearing and head to the forest, but before you can your father steps in the way. "You fool! You'll die out there! Lucky you even are alive! Now go back to the den!" He snarls. "But... but mother's out there!" You protest. "I have to find her!"

"I said to go back to the den!" Your father snarls more harshly. You follow his orders and run back to the den, and watch as your father howls. A few seconds after his howl is over, you hear you mother howl back. After a moment she arrives, very dirty, her fur messed up. Your father and mother nuzzle each other for a moment, and then they walk back. You see the sun is setting and the stars are beginning to come out.

Your mother is not in a good mood, but she is happy to see you are okay. "Pups, get back in the den. We will play outside tomorrow." She growls. You and your siblings go back inside. You look at your father one last time as you walk inside.

"I am very disappointed in you, Aiattaua." He growls, and walks away. You sigh and walk in the den.

Your curiosity gets the best of you and you quietly sneak deeper into the territory. You see a small group of older wolves discussing something, far away from the pack. You sneak towards them, and then silently eavesdrop on their conversation.

"I... I saw them. Around the West Lake." Says one of the wolves. There is blood all over him, and you see many cuts, bruises, and thorns. His eyes were wet with tears. You notice a dead wolf laying a few feet away from the group. You notice there is blood all over the dead wolf's chest.

"Surely they can't be here now." Said one of the wolves. He looked very beat up and had scars all over his body. He must of been in many fights over the years. His flicks his left ear, which has an odd shaped hole on the tip. "See this ear? They attacked it years ago. I was so angry that I attacked back. They were cowards and left. I thought they would never come back." He says.

"But they are back! I saw them. T-they...they sounded just like another wolf. Me and Taiomah got closer to investigate... and then suddenly, Taiomah... there was blood everywhere, it was almost like his heart exploded in his chest, and he fell to the ground. I tried to grab him, but then they attacked me... I ran and didn't look back. I kept running back here, through thorn bushes and sharp rocks... I didn't care... they didn't kill me like they kill Taiomah..."

You notice one of the wolves has blood over his mouth. He speaks. "You're lucky they didn't take your friend. I was actually brave enough to drag him back." He seems much more rude than the other wolves. "Not like I care. It was probably best for him to die, Taiomah was just a useless brat since the day he was born. I'm not sure why I didn't leave him to rot." He spits.

The wounded wolf growls. "Don't talk about Taiomah like that!" He snarls. His fur bristles, and you step back. Then the wounded wolf calms down, tears coming to his eyes. "You don't understand, Wapaheo. No one understood him." He says sadly, looking at the dead wolf you assume is Taiomah.

Then, The oldest of the wolves speaks. "Ouray, I understand you were close friends with Taiomah. He was a good wolf and did nothing wrong, even if his attitude was a bit intolerable at times. He will be missed. But, as leader of this pack, I will tell you all that this is just one wolf. Even if they have come back, we have even bigger problems. A female bear lives nearby and threatens us all."

So that cave you found was a bear cave. Good thing you didn't enter, you probably would of got eaten up.

"The coyote population is increasing, and they are harmful to our pups. And with that bear around, I expect the bear population to increase too. All this information just tells us not to go to the West Lake, and then our only problems will be the bears and coyotes." The leader says.

"But... but father..." Ouray stutters. "There were so many... and when there are many... then many wolves are wanted."

The leader sits and thinks for a while. "If they grow into a big threat, we may have to move to the R-" He says. He sniffs. "What is it?" One of the wolves asks. The leader doesn't answer. Then, after a moment of silence, he says, "Nothing." You realize he has smelt you and you quietly walk away.

You see the pups playing with their mother. That could be you right now. Then, you suddenly remember that you are supposed to be looking for your den.

Before reading this "Choose your Own Adventure" story, please know that even though I've barely started to work on this I plan for it to be a very complex story with many pages. I want to make it so that almost each option will affect your future as a wolf somehow, and how there are so many ways you can go with your life. I know I will probably spend ages on this, so I hope that as I continue to work on this story people will enjoy what I have worked on so far, help me, and support me. Of course, I don't need much of anything, I just wanted to do something with my life... whatever. I just hope you enjoy this.

(BTW, sometimes names or random letters will appear in parenthesis at the beginning of an option. Just ignore that.)

Some Info:

You start out in this story as a puppy, and even options you make as a puppy will change your future. As you grow up, more options become available to you. These options can lead to some many plots. Some options can lead to your death. However, there are five skills that will help you as a wolf.

Strength (How strong you are)

Endurance (How long you can fight and run without getting tired)

Speed (How fast you are)

Cleverness (How smart you are)

Stealth (How sneaky you are)

You can gain these skills throughout the game, and this will increase your chance of survival.

So you're bored of being a human and want to see what a wolf's life is like. Well I'll tell you right now it's not easy. You need to hunt your own food, escape predators, fight other wolves, and try to survive the harsh wilderness.

Puppies and adult wolves, everywhere, enjoying the nice summer day. You see your mother and your siblings, playing and barking, so joyful...

Wait a second. That isn't your mother, your mother doesn't look like that. And those aren't your siblings. Then you realize.

This isn't your pack. You've accidentally stumbled into another pack's territory.

You watch their actions, completely forgetting what you are supposed to be doing right now. Then, curiosity hits you like a bee sting... what do you do?

Well... you ignore them, I guess. The beetle and the Squirrel eventually just go away. You listen to your father as he tells you his puphood stories.

Well, you've gained none of the five skills:

Strength (How strong you are)

Endurance (How long you can fight and run without being tired)

Speed (How fast and agile you are)

Cleverness (How smart you are)

Stealth (How sneaky you are)

You can gain some later of the skills later on, however. These skills are important in being a full-grown wolf...

...Well? are you ready to become a full grown adult?
