Choose Your Own Adventure is a wiki that contains stories where the reader assumes the role of the main character. In each page you choose how the story should progress. If you don't see an option that you would like to pursue, click the edit tab on the top of the page and add a new path to the page. Then you get to write in your own adventure for the character.

Please note that this site is specifically for Choose Your Own Adventure stories. If you choose to post stories that have no choices, your story will be deleted as such stories are not appropriate for this site.

“Oh come on, it'll be fun,” she says with a pathetic look on her face, “I don't want to stay here all week with these guys, I'm like a fifth wheel here, that's no fun for me.”

You can't stand when she gives you that sad face look, and it always worked in the past when she wanted you to cave in to her ways. After some thought (mainly about equipment needed for two people on the trip, because after all she is attractive and you are gonna let her go anyway) you decide it can't hurt to let her go. It really would be boring for her to stay in camp knowing the rest of the gang the way you do.

You decide to wait until the morning before you set out, it won't hurt you to spend the night in camp with all your friends. Everyone gathers up some firewood and makes a fire, the typical camping cliché stuff, then Henry and his girlfriend Amber make some dinner for everyone. After dinner and cleanup (throwing away your disposal plates) the group sits around and drinks beer until around 10pm and then people start to turn in for the night. Damn, you forgot to set up your one man tent so now you just toss your sleeping bag in Mallory's tent, yall use to date so it's not a big deal to share a tent with her. She's tipsy anyway so nothing kinky tonight, just sleep.

After a long night of tossing and turning you finally get out of the tent to a cool fresh morning, dew is spread across the ground as light from the sun below the horizon begins to touch the grass. You start the cooking stove to make the coffee, (you are the first one up anyway, so it's your job now) and while the water heats up you find a tree to take care of your morning business. Natalie is tending the coffee when you return and yall exchange goodmorning stuff and go on with making breakfast, meanwhile everyone else begins to file out of tents and prepare for breakfast.

Breakfast ends and you go to gather your hiking stuff and prepare to leave when Mallory walks over with her equipment in hand with a weird grin on her face. “You don't remember last night do you?” she say's with a smirk. “I told you last night I was going on the hiking... that I was a fifth wheel here with everyone else... that I wanted... oh for Christ sake, you were drunk of course you don't remember.” Now she has a hurt look on her face like you lied to her. But did you really agree to let her tag along? Who the hell knows for sure, you did drink a little too much last night.

Breakfast ends and you go to gather your hiking stuff and prepare to leave when Mallory walks over with her equipment in hand with a weird grin on her face. “You don't remember last night do you?” she say's with a smirk. “I told you last night I was going on the hiking... that I was a fifth wheel here with everyone else... that I wanted... oh for Christ sake, you were drunk of course you don't remember.” Now she has a hurt look on her face like you lied to her. But did you really agree to let her tag along? Who the hell knows for sure, you did drink a little too much last night.

You decide to wait until the morning before you set out, it won't hurt you to spend the night in camp with all your friends. Everyone gathers up some firewood and makes a fire, the typical camping cliché stuff, then Henry and his girlfriend Amber make some dinner for everyone. After dinner and cleanup (throwing away your disposal plates) the group sits around and drinks beer until around 10pm and then people start to turn in for the night. Damn, you forgot to set up your one man tent so now you just toss your sleeping bag in Mallory's tent, yall use to date so it's not a big deal to share a tent with her. She's tipsy anyway so nothing kinky tonight, just sleep.

After a long night of tossing and turning you finally get out of the tent to a cool fresh morning, dew is spread across the ground as light from the sun below the horizon begins to touch the grass. You start the cooking stove to make the coffee, (you are the first one up anyway, so it's your job now) and while the water heats up you find a tree to take care of your morning business. The time has finally come, you have arrived at your destination with your group of friends, (you rode with them after all to save money). They are making camp in whats known as the primitive campground of the national forest, there's a porta-potty (for all the girls of course) but other then that there are no amenities to speak of. Although a shower and running water is located at the ranger station about 15 min away by car. So it's not totally primitive in that sense.

You stay to help your friends set up camp and spend some time visiting before you head off your own direction; your route will set out from this point heading along a marked trail west for an hour, then you will move off the trail for the remainder of your trip and head north on your first leg of the trip, and then meet back with them in five days at the camp site. Simple enough.

The afternoon flew past, now you won't go too far before the sun goes down, should you just wait till morning and set out, or go ahead and get started now to take advantage of as much time as possible?

You sit patiently waiting to see what will come next... “Surely they should be crossing into the zone soon, or did they stop to look at a map maybe” you think to yourself. Suddenly, you are shaken by two small but distinct explosions, poor suckers, good thing you decided not to ally with them, clearly they are too stupid to be partnered with.

You head out of hiding towards the direction they went too, “I want there supplies... if they are intact now that is” you mumble. As you reach the location of the blood and the head of Paul laying on the ground you don't dare take another step, you know you are close to the danger zone yourself and you don't want to end up like them.

You make a quick but deliberate search of the area paying attention not to go more then another step closer to where you believe the zone will start. You find the crossbow and a couple of bolts lying together, as you turn around you see the bottom half of Paul, you walk over to check it to find a pack of cigarettes and a Colt 45, you're in luck, now you have a gun.

You move back out of the area, sure that you aren't too close to the zone. You need to get moving, but you are tired too, should you...

You decide to charge at her with full speed, to your advantage, she fires the crossbow early and the bolt flies off to your right side (a little too close for comfort, but nothing to stop your full run over). She scrambles to find another bolt to load in the crossbow, but by the time she gets her hands on one you are slashing her chest open with the machete. You have managed to survive this round, although you wonder how long the nightmares will last now. You begin gathering her crossbow, bolts, supplies into your own bag then begin searching Paul’s bag that was left conveniently by Heather when he walked to the edge of the woods. Your best bet is to wait for them to pass by with no confrontation, you've decided. You think the time will come when you will need an alliance, but you don't know this Paul guy at all and it's been years since you really knew Heather. Maybe they aren't the best partners for you at this time.

You lay low, just watching them and making sure you are out of sight. It's a hot day, the sun is shinning bright with few clouds in the sky, so staying still and in the bushes is the best place to be right now anyway (except for these damn bugs flying around).

You notice that they are walking from west to east (as you are facing northeastern direction). As you watch them walk out of site you realize that they are about to cross into a danger zone, “did these idiots not look at there map” you think.

You decide to make a run for the closest treeline, hoping that she is too scared to pull the trigger of her gun, or maybe too shaky too hit you even if she does pull the trigger. “Stop” she screams at you repeatedly, but no sound from the gun ever rang out. You think how lucky you are right at this moment to be out of that situation, just to be sure you're safe you ran for another few minutes, maybe longer (long enough to know you weren't being followed by them).

Confident that they did not follow you slow your pace to a walk, but you keep moving. You remember from the map that you are one zone to the west of a danger zone, if you accidentally wander into a danger zone the collar will explode automatically (or so you were told anyway). To be safe, you stop under some brush to look over the map again, while you are crouched down you hear the faint noise of people mumbling and tree limbs cracking under the pressure of feet. You peer out to see a pair of students.

The boy you recognize as Paul Hall (boy #22) younger brother of another Hall kid, Jimmy or James... whatever... The girl you knew from elementary school Heather Locker (girl #20), you two use to be friends, but as elementary school friends often do, you two lost touch in Jr. High and haven't talk to her at Jamesville High except to say high in passing occasionally. Now may be the time to attempt contact with someone, when it's all done, you will probably have to kill them both anyway, but in the meantime it may be good to have some partners.

Fortunately, you look around to assess your surroundings. Trees, everywhere, you feel at home here from all your day's of hunting and camping, “they couldn't have dropped me in a better spot,' you find yourself mumbling out loud. Of course you don't have your regular camo outfit that you would have while hunting deer, but how much harder can it be to hunt people than deer?

You move to the nearest treeline and out of the clearing and open up your bag to see what you have to work with. You have been left with a machete, 7 sandwiches, 4 sodas, a map, blanket, and a list of danger zones. You make note of the danger zones on you map and realize that you are one zone to the west of a danger zone, if you accidentally wander into a danger zone the collar will explode automatically (or so you were told anyway).

Just as you have processed the map, danger zones, and weapon selection you hear voices coming towards the clearing you just left. You get low to the ground and stay still, after a few minutes pass you see a guy and a girl cross into the clearing. It's going to be tough going if you try to complete this game by yourself you decide, sooner or later you will need help from other people, there's only 70hrs left so you need to get started if you plan to win. Once this alliance serves its purpose, you can always just turn on them and kill them too.

You step out slowly, but calm and sure (you don't want to appear scared of them, and you don't want to startle them either). “Hey Heather,” you call first, cause you know her best. They both spin towards you, not sure what to make of the sudden new voice appearing out of the woods. “Heather, it's me, CJ” you say trying to get them to calm a little. Heather relaxes some, but keeps her crossbow out (though not aimed at your chest anymore). “Hi CJ, are you alone out here?” she asks, sounding genuinely concerned about your circumstances this far. “Yes” you respond, “I saw you two passing by, I thought maybe I could join up with you two, maybe we can make it out of this” you lie to them, knowing that you will have to kill them yourself later.

Paul Hall just eyes you suspiciously from a distance, not knowing what to think about the new would-be partner. You pay him no attention except to watch his hands, which at the moment they are empty so you turn your attention back to Heather who has the weapon out. “What do yall think, should we join up and the three of us can have a better chance to get out of this thing” you ask her, sounding as sincere as you can. Heather and Paul exchange a quick nod and agree. Heather tells you that it would be great to have another person in the group they can “trust.” As she heads towards you she mentions how long it's been since yall had really ever talked and she would be happy to catch up when the time comes for that, she reaches to hug you and you return the embrace.

Just before you release from the embrace you feel the cold steel of something sharp in your back, you pull back and reach for your machete, but you collapse before you can react...

You decide that it is time to quite running and hiding, that tactic will surely keep you alive (for a while anyway), but it won't win this damn game.

You notice the two have stopped for some reason, as if they are looking for something or someone. They don't seem to be looking in any particular direction, just simply looking around, “they must not see me then” you think with some relief. The only way this attack will work is with the element of surprise to it. “It looks like a safe enough place to take a break” you hear Paul tell Heather “I need to take a leak real quick will you be ok by yourself over here?” Heather nods.

You see Heather put down her weapon... a crossbow you notice, “that may be good, slow reload, and you have to be pretty accurate to hit something with that” you think. She sits down and opens her bag to get something to eat while they rest.

Paul sets his bag on the ground next to Heather and walks towards the edge of the forest where you are crouched over at. “If he tries to piss on me, that's all the reason I need to kill the bastard” you mumble aloud with a sly grin. By the direction Paul is walking you figure out where you should be able to 'catch him with his pants down' (no pun intended) and you began stalking that direction. Your time in the woods stalking deer is really paying off now. As he is in mid-stream pissing you swing your machete at his head. With a solid hit, you hear him gasp and fall over, the poor guy never knew what hit him.

You immediately turn to see Heather is on alert now and with a crossbow aimed at you.

You charge the girl with the gun first (obviously) she freezes and you tackle her to the ground, the gun flew off about 5 yards away. As you are straddling on top of her choking her you feel a sharp pain in your back... You forgot to neutralize the other girl, the one with the knife...

You don't want to move until you know what items you have at your disposal. You been at this spot long enough anyway so what is a few more minutes now. You open your bag and start unpacking the items that you have, a machete for your weapon, “damn, but could be worse I suppose” you think. Some sandwiches, sodas, map, blanket and the danger zone list. You remember they told you to avoid the danger zones or this damn collar will explode around your neck. Not what you want to think about right now.

As your looking at your map eating a sandwich and noting danger zones you sense someone or something has crossed into the clearing that you are now regretting still sitting in. You turn to see two girls one with a pistol raised and aimed at you, the other looks to just have a knife or maybe a sword of some sort. The girl with the gun who is shaking uncontrollably and crying, screams at you to step away from your bag, turn around, and kneel down... You know this is your last sight that you will see...

You open your bag and start unpacking the items that you have, a machete for your weapon, “damn, but could be worse I suppose” you think. Some sandwiches, sodas, map, blanket and the danger zone list. You remember they told you to avoid the danger zones or this damn collar will explode around your neck. Not what you want to think about right now.

As your looking at your map eating a sandwich and noting danger zones you sense someone or something has crossed into the clearing that you are now regretting still sitting in. You turn to see two girls one with a pistol raised and aimed at you, the other looks to just have a knife or maybe a sword of some sort. The girl with the gun who is shaking uncontrollably and crying, screams at you to step away from your bag, turn around, and kneel down... You know this is your last sight that you will see...

Fortunately, you look around to assess your surroundings. Trees, everywhere, you feel at home here from all your day's of hunting and camping, “they couldn't have dropped me in a better spot,' you find yourself mumbling out loud. Of course you don't have your regular camo outfit that you would have while hunting deer, but how much harder can it be to hunt people than deer?

You move to the nearest treeline and out of the clearing and open up your bag to see what you have to work with. You have been left with a machete, 7 sandwiches, 4 sodas, a map, blanket, and a list of danger zones. You make note of the danger zones on you map and realize that you are one zone to the east of a danger zone, if you accidentally wander into the danger zone the collar will explode automatically (or so you were told anyway).

Just as you have processed the map, danger zones, and weapon selection you hear voices coming towards the clearing you just left. You get low to the ground and stay still, after a few minutes pass you see a guy and a girl cross into the clearing. The boy you recognize as Paul Hall (boy #22) younger brother of another Hall kid, Jimmy or James... whatever... The girl you knew from elementary school Heather Locker (girl #20), you two use to be friends, but as elementary school friends often do, you two lost touch in Jr. High and haven't talk to her at Jamesville High except to say high in passing occasionally. Now may be the time to attempt contact with someone, when it's all done, you will probably have to kill them both anyway, but in the meantime it may be good to have some partners.
