Your hand moves to your bag, extracting the blaster and sending 3 bolts towards the stunned assailant. He manages to deflect two bolts before the last strikes him on the lower left side. A growl comes from him as he rushes at you again before suddenly stopping..

The old man has his hands out, lifting the assailant into the air.

"Mission unsuccessful." Another growl before a force of invisible energy throws you across the room. Your head hits something hard and metal and your vision blurs.

You begin to refocus, seeing a black blur move towards the ceiling before slowly forcing yourself to your feet. The old man is already up, moving towards you after extinguishing his weapon.

"Quite the fight there, boy. You did pretty well against a sith assassin, no less."

He offers you his hand and you take it, lifting yourself up. You're still a bit dizzy but you're getting there.

"So... you're a jedi," you state. It ain't a question anymore.. the scene was obvious but before you get any answers 20 republic troops appear, blasters drawn.

"Freeze!"

The Jedi smiles at you before turning and lifting his arms. "Jedi business, gentlemen. I was showing my friend here the senate when a sith came after us. He fled.. upwards." He points. The troops glance up before one goes to his wrist communicator. "Get guards and troops to the ceiling. Find anyone with... a red lightsaber."

The troops reholstered their blasters before saluting to the Jedi and filing out. The Jedi turned back around, looking at you once more.

"You handled yourself well.. You sensed an attack before even I could. You may be too old but would you like to come with me to Tython to be examined by the masters?"

"WATCH OUT!"

Your hands hit his back, shoving him out of the way of the man with the... lightsaber? Holy shit, is he a Sith?

Your brain shuts down, running off of the adrenaline rather than the awe of seeing an actual Sith. The assailant wears a black mask, eyes narrowing upon you as he hits the ground.

"A padawan?" He growls. He speaks in an alien form of galactic basic. He's an alien of some sort.. Before you can decipher what he's saying, he lunges at you.

You stumble backwards, attempting to get into your bag for your blaster.

No time. The saber descends upon you.

"Here!"

Instinctively you catch what was thrown to you. The old man gave you.. a broken hilt? Synapses fire and you realize. A *ksshh* sounds off as a bright green blade juts forth and blocks the lightsaber. But your control of the saber is.. poor at best. What the hell can you be expected to do?

The blade goes flying, sliding across the ground as the sith recoils. You have a split second...

"Go to hell."

Your quick movements give way to searing pain as a blaster bolt hits your shoulder. You manage to get a fist in, knocking the wind out of the hired mercenary.

You continue to wail on him, looking to wear him down before he can get any more moves in on you. With a final blow to the jaw, his head slams into the wall and he collapses to the ground. For good measure, you take his blaster and smash him in the side of the head. Should keep him down for a while..

You begin to disarm him, pulling away several blasters and vibroblades before grabbing your blanket and tying the man up. Patting him down, you find several interesting things

First is a holocron from a cloaked individual, showing your face and a small vid of your murder. You're a.. 'person of interest' and he wants you alive on transit to an old abandoned factory on the outskirts of the main section of the city.

The second holocron is odder. It's telling the hit man that you're to be recruited with extreme force if necessary.

Gotta make the cash somehow, right? Building droids might be a good start.

From the airbase you head towards the factory, humming as you walk. The breeze is nice and the city is pretty lively. It's a lot nicer than he thought it would be. Half expecting to choke on smog and being surprised.

After a 20 minute walk, you push open the doors and look on the foreman. He's a large Duros, a yellow hat hanging off of his bulbous head. He gives you a nod, speaking in his native tongue before catching himself and going back to galactic basic.

"Hello, human. Are you looking for work?"

A damn mind reader at that. You nod your head. "Yeah, I am. Got any open positions?"

"Depends on what you're able to do. Follow me out to the floor."

Not 20 feet from the door you hear a twi'ilek yell at the top of his lungs. A large robotic arm swings out from the assembly line, coming towards you and the Duros.

"Uhmm.. alright." You nod and before you know it, the man in the brown robe is leading you into the Galactic Senate. You'd be a bit awestruck if it wasn't for the generosity of this random soul.

"So, you're from where now?"

"Dantooine. What about yourself?"

"Hmm.. hard to say at my age. But i've been around Coruscant all my life."

Well, that was damn odd but curious none the less. You find yourself a bit suspicious of this guy but still, he can't do anything in the Senate building, right?

"Do you have any family?"

"...Not really. Not anymore. My parents were killed by raiders and my older sister took off shortly after like I did. She's probably off with her fiance, even if I do think he's a jackass."

The old man let out a hearty laugh before nodding his head. "Unfortunate, but you seem like a good soul none the less. The galaxy is a tragic place, after all."

That was true. As the two of you move into the Senate you begin to hear a soft hum. Slowing your walk, you look to the old man. "Do you hear that?"

"...I hear nothing."

In a flash of red, an assailant in red drops from the ceiling, intent on the death of the kind old man.

And you were right, too. It's quite a sight to behold. The giant building rises off the ground, lined with windows. It's one of the largest buildings in the Republic and it only seems to get bigger as the years go by. As you stare in awe, a man in a brown robe steps up to your side.

"Quite the sight, isn't it?" He speaks to you in a very civil tone.

You glance to him, nodding solemnly. "Where i'm from, we don't have places like this. Just territories and the like. It's.. different."

"Would you like to join me in a tour of the senate?" The robed man inquires with a smile.

Looks like the hyperspace trip was a bit rougher on you than you thought but no worries. You got some extra creds out of the whole thing and you vented pretty damn well. So much for those drinks though, you're pretty damn tired. It's about time to find some lodging and relax for the night. Tomorrow should be a more productive day.

As you fine refuge in a nice inn, eat a bit and relax, you begin to doze off. Tired as hell, your eyes feel like krayt dragons. You drop onto your bed and sleep like a log until about 4 a.m. The sound of glass shattering wakes you. Eyes dart back and forth, extremely aware of your surroundings.

You feel cold steel against your temple and you stop moving. The assassin's presence wasn't even noticed.. he was damn good.

"I saw that little display in the alley earlier.. you're good, but sloppy. Republic troops were all over that scene in about a hour but you can be refined.. How about getting into the mercenary racket, kid? Guarantee it'll score you more credits than what you have now."

Clearly, you're still a bit more irritable because of the flight. You open up your bag, extracting a small pocket blaster from home that you brought just in case.

"Please, don't.. You can have it back. You can have whatever I got!" The Twi'ilek pleads but it falls upon deaf ears. The sound of blaster fire rings out, a few people glancing towards the alleys before going back to their business. The twi'ilek is crumpled on the ground, smoke rising off from his head. You quickly drop the blaster back into your bag, get your credits back (along with a bit of a bonus for the annoyance) and decide to jump the wall to draw less attention to yourself.

It's best that you forget about the cantina for now and get some distance away from the body. But where do you go?

It's easy to tail him, his giant blue lekku flapping behind him as bigger aliens hinder his progress. Just as you near him, he turns down an alley.

You follow, seeing him up against a wall. Sweat drips down his face, nervous as hell. He knows that in these back parts of Coruscant you could be shot and nobody would find your body for days. He turns slowly..
