He leads you down to ground level, and out into a back alley. The cold night air is refreshing on your skin. You follow him as he sneaks down the alley, and you arrive at the exit to the street."Get down!" he whispers suddenly, and he pulls you behind a dumpster. Then, six motorcycles drove past the opening, each harboring one or two mean looking men."Raiders," The old man Whispers. Once they're gone, the two of you get up."Come on," He says, continuing on and checking around the corner,"We have to get back to the compound."
The two of you travel along the roads of the city, until you reach a rather large building, the windows boarded up and surrounded by an eight foot wall. The gate to the building is locked shut with chain upon chain of steel."Kind of redundant," the old man says,"Seeing as the machines can just step over it." The old man leads you to a man hole, and opens it with surprising strength. The old man climbs down, them gestures for you to do the same. Just before you do so, however, a women comes running around the corner, going full force, toward you. Then, one of the striders comes lunging after it.
(Time for an important plot development :D)

A single tear falls from your cheeks, as you ready yourself to jump. All your life you've struggled, seen others die around you. and now, its your turn, you think.
You push off the ledge with all your might, and feel the rush of air as you tumble to the ground.

You did not make a difference. You were loved by none, and will be remembered by none. This is the end of your journey.

..Or so you think.

You wake, not feeling the ground beneath you. You feel as though you are... floating. Is this heaven? Is this hell? Your eyes adjust, and you begin to recognize that everything has a greenish hue. You attempt to move, but you can't find the strength to. You see images rush past you, messages, images, all different colours and shades, but mostly green. Everything is green. Suddenly, you feel a jerk, and you are thrown into a wall, then swung back into place, like a puppet on strings. Now that you think about it, you are on string! IV tubes, coming out of you left and right! You don't get much time to study them though, because before you know it, you are dropped from the tube like structure you were being held in, and all your IV's are ripped out at once. You fall onto a hard, metal surface, that you recognize as a convayer belt. All around you more bodies pile up, none moving. You look up and see hole after hole of green light open, letting out a green liquid, and then another body. An image flashes before your eyes."Clean up.." You mutter to yourself, baffled at the presence of the knowledge. You then look around, more alert to the meaning of the message. Behind you, where the belt is coming from, lies darkness. on the sides of the belt are sharp walls, only three feet high, making you crouch. Ahead is most gruesome though; a hole in the wall, where the belt ends, and the smell of burning flesh rises. You must act quickly, before you are either burried in bodies or burnt to a crisp.

"Now lets move on." You step out the door into the cold night air, and it feels refreshing against your skin. The roof top is a gravely surface, and imprints can be seen of a tri-toed thing that stomped away. You're glad you didn't have to deal with it."This way," The old man says, gesturing for you to follow him. He approaches the edge of the building, where a few rickety looking boards are layed out, closing the gap between the two buildings. The old man climbs on top, and nimbly runs across, the borders creeking and groaning under his weight. There's no way that thing can hold your weight! You could try to gap the building, but that could be even more dangerous. Maybe you can persuade the old man to come back and the two of you will go the other way.

People have a tendency to create branches where the character dies. To prevent the story from being just a tree with all dead ends:

==Creating a Story==
If you have an idea for a story, you might like to try [[Idea Pitches|pitching your idea to other users]] and seeing how interested people might be in playing your story, what you could do to make playing your story fun, and who might be interested in collaborating with you to write it. Once you have done that, you can create it by entering your desired name for the Story into the search box and clicking '''Go'''. If the name has not already been taken, click this exact title to start the story. There are three general types of story. The first is the branching-plot story (an example of this is the Choose Your Own Adventure series of gamebooks), which require the reader to make choices but are otherwise like a regular novel. The second type is the role-playing game adventure, which combines the branching-plot novel with simple role-playing rules such as attack points and monster battles. The third type is the trivia quiz, where the player must answer questions as if they were on a game show.

The next to the last line here is the ''status indicator''. The status indicator shown here is the ''basic'' status indicator. Different stories use different status indicators, and some use none at all. Look at the edit screen for the page you're starting from and copy that status indicator to the new page you're adding. Modify as necessary.

Every page should have the category at the bottom. This keeps track of all the pages in the story. You can copy the category line from the previous page to the one you're working on. The category, obviously, is ''never'' 'name of story you're working on'. You type in the actual name of the story.

*Please stick to the theme and setting of the story, and discuss ideas for major changes on the discussion pages. Although creativity is encouraged, radical plot changes and inconsistencies will ruin the flow.
*If something is off topic, remove it.
*Try to capitalize and spell your words correctly.
