" Unless yer itchin' to kill summin' fer me, are yah? In that case, feel free to go tuh the Wastelands, but I'dn't advise it. Yeh'd have better luck travlin' with gypsies!"

" If yah go North long enough, yeh'll hit a desert. Not a friendly setting t'be sure, but there're legends of great treasure and a fortress sits there. If yeh prefer water, 'tis a beach to the East with its own castle as well. Yeh'd have to watch out fer pirates though. Otherwise, yeh can go West, t'where I was goin to get work, the castle in the Mountain. 'Tis a nice place, So I'd go that way, but fer much different reasons than yourself."

Hobbes' twisting smile fades away. "Or yeh can go South to the Wastelands, though I cannae imagine why yeh'd ever even think of it."

You thank Hobbes for his help and he nods in response, apparently a little tired now from talking. He yawns and closes his eyes.

You look around the quiet field from where you stand and wonder where you should go next.

"M'name's 'Obbes."

" Likewise, dreamer." Hobbes replies. " T'be honest, I'dn't quite remember why I was hanged. Some o' m'brain's been eatin' by nasty insects, y'see, so m'memory s'not what it used tuh be. I'm husbife, a 21 year old college student, just having some fun with Choose Your own Adventure Stories.

I'm writing the "'''Trying to Wake Up'''" story in the PG13 section, and am planing on doing a fantasy RPG later if I ever get around to it.

I like fantasy, and hard science fiction stories, as well as philosophy and metaphysics. I also like painting and reading classic literature. Basically, I'm kind of geeky. :)

But you can't read the words on the paper; they seem blurry.

You look around to see if your nearby friend can help you, but...

and... you don't fall down! There is the rushing of wind all around you and you open your eyes to see that you are, indeed, flying!
You laugh to yourself, feeling wonderful and free as you soar through the air. the forest is now beneath you as a large patch of green.

You're quite high now, looking down at the green fields, mountains, and... even the gentle curvature of the planet. It's a magnificent view, and you're surprised that your subconscious is able to produce such a nice picture.

You know from watching situations like this on TV and in movies that the more you struggle, the faster you sink! So you hold still a little bit and look for something to grab onto.

There is a vine just out of reach, so you take a steady hold and carefully pull your feet up and over to a safe spot.
''Phew!'' Close one! You decide to be a little bit more careful of where you step in this jungle.

As you continue through the steamy jungle, there are all sorts of strange animal noises and growls resonating through the forest, as well as unusual whoops and tweets.
The ground gets steadily more rocky as you walk on, and then there is a sound of rushing water.
Up ahead, you come upon a waterfall. There is a cave at the bottom of the waterfall, but there is also a trail of smoke visible from your location.

The woods are quite nice and cool. The trees have thin trunks and high canopies. The floor is spread apart between the trees, filled in with a fresh green carpet of grass.

You hope that the hallway will be empty when you exit through the door, but it seems that you haven't walked into the hallway at all!
In fact, it looks as if the door transported you to the deck of a pirate ship!
You look down and, thankfully, you have clothes! Awesome pirate clothes!

Okay so maybe this dream isn't so bad after all!

The ship is old-fashioned and rocking steadily against the stretch of deep blue water. A few other pirates are on board, but don't seem to have noticed you.

You look around your groggy school classroom and wonder when the bell is going to ring. Looking at the clock, you try to see how many minutes you have left. Strangely, you can't quite make out what it says; the hands seem blurry. You really need to catch up on your sleep.

Then you look down to your desk. There is a white paper laid out...A test?!

Oh man! That was today?!
Ah, crap, and you didn't study either! You were up all night fiddling around on the internet!

Okay, don't panic, maybe you'll remember some of this if you just read the first sentence a few times.
But you can't read the words on the paper; they seem blurry.
What the- ?
Are you really that tired, or did you forget your glasses? Do you even wear glasses?!

You look around to see if your nearby friend can help you, but...
