"Where are you going?" asks Dodge. "This is quite a find. It doesn't look natural. We should get a closer look."
As you take a closer look at the structure, you are struck with feelings of confusion, despair, rage and fear. It is a structure very familiar to you--and to nearly anyone from Earth. It is the top half of the Statue of Liberty, stuck sideways in the beach, half melted by some unknown force. Even her face appears to be mourning the terrible series of events which led to her downfall as the waves crash against her on the rocky shore.
"I... I don't understand..." you stammer.
"I do," states Landon. "We never left. We're still on Earth and Earth is dead. It's 2,000 years later and we're home. We're..." He falls to the ground and weeps. "It's true... Everyone we've ever known is dead and forgotten."
