You crack your knuckles and weave the spell, although you cannot be certain what it will do, or even if it is a spell. But then, the weight of your sword disappears from your hip – it has been taken by the spell! A loud whirring sound rings in your ears as you look around in confusion. The ringing eventually stops, punctuated by a loud bell. DING!
Your sword reappears, floating in front of you in the air, and you take it. It's your sword alright, but somehow changed. It bares bizarre otherworldly inscriptions across its surface. It sings through the air, impossibly sharp as you give it a few test swings. A fantastic spell to be sure, but useless in your current situation.
You sit by the water's edge, watching the waves creep closer. You will never know the secret of Gaddu-Lay...
You drown in the rising tide.
