You spent the next week getting used to your new life in what you can only assume to either be a parallel world or your world in the past. Luckily the Chief of the village was extremely helpful to you for unknown reasons and your transition of life style was soften. Nonetheless the first two days were pure torture for you, with no technology there was nothing to help you drift your mind, you also lacked cigares to calm your mind from the stress. The food was also much less and worse than what you were used to, but the worst part for you without a doubt was the lack of toilet paper. Having to shit and piss out on the open is one thing, having to clean your ass with leaves, let's just say your ass as seen better days.

Outside of those things you've had an easy transition. Since most of the villagers still don't trust you, the type of work given to you mostly resolves around carrying tools from point A to B. Whenever you weren't needed or wanted, you would spend your time with the Elder and draw on the ground while trading words with one another. While it seemed difficult for the Elder to learn your language, you were having a much easier time absorbing their language thanks to being emerged in a village that spoke it. Another thing that you quickly learned was that taking a bath was a horrible idea. While the rivers and lakes of the area seemed to be safe, the problem was the cold, after taking your first bath since arriving in this world, you quickly discovered that it took a lot of time to return back to the village, meaning that you would spend almost 15 minutes wet and cold before you returned to the village. Luckily your immune system was always a cut above the rest and you didn't catch a cold or fever, nonetheless you've decided that you'll only take baths when the weather is hot enough that being wet and cold would be beneficial.

Your social life hasn't improved either. While the Elder is an incredible individual to calm and relax with, everybody else has either been avoiding you or reluctant. In general the other men treated you either with animosity or indifference. The women, particularly the older ones seemed to scowl whenever you showed your face, while the younger ones showed some curiosity but nothing more. The children were probably the only other people you could interact with without feeling pressured. They would often look and point at you, something that you quickly grew used with.

Eventually a month passes. By now you can speak their language in a broken form, and you still use a lot of your own language in the middle. Nonetheless, you can at least communicate with the villagers now, even if in a minimal form. The people have also become much friendly with you as they got used with the idea of you becoming part of the village. During that month the Elder explained to you the village's situation. It seems that there had been a large battle between villages for territory, this village had been forced to participate by a neighboring village that demanded for additional warriors. The end result was that most of the village's men had died. Only the ones who stayed behind survived. This was 10 years ago and the village is still having problems getting back in shape, most children do not survive until maturity and the few who do are usually the females. As a result the village has had to adopt a polygamous culture where a man could have multiple women. One of the reasons why the Elder helped you join the village was for this reason alone. You are young, have a powerful stature and seem to have a brighter mind than most, a fine addition for his dieing village.

At the end of the month he made you a proposition. You could become the chief of the village and the Elder becomes your advisor, or you could become his advisor.
