You take your own words too seriously, and literally throw your double shotgun in the mouth of the poisonlandminemantaraybat, instead of actually firing it.
Piggy: "Oh for fig's sake! WHY MUST I BE SO STUPID!?"
The poisonlandminemantaraybat is still well and alive, but very confused. The double shotgun prevents it from closing its gigantic mouth. It swoops back and forth for a little while, and dives back into the depths.
Piggy: "Wow, I did not expect that to work."
You peer over the edge of the boat to see that the best is truly gone. You spot a shadowy figure rising to the surface, fast.
Piggy: "I wonder what that could be?"
The poisonlandminemantaraybat resurfaces, holding the double shotgun in its mouth pointed at you. Just as you think that you're going to get shot by a sea creature, the double shotgun fails to fire due to wet gunpowder.
Piggy: "Not so dangerous now, are we?"
The poisonlandminemantaraybat stings you, and after a short while, you die.
