With your clothes fully serving their protective function again, you grip your poles, push off and assume a crouch as you ski off down towards the lift at the bottom.
You swing your way around some moguls, avoid the other skiers, and after a few minutes, you near the bottom of the hill. You angle sideways and glide to a halt, taking a moment to catch your breath.
After your brief rest,you start poling your way towards the line for the lift. You realize that it's designed for people to sit in pairs, and you start looking around to see if the are any other solo skiers waiting.
A pretty brunette poles her way over to you. "Need a partner for the the lift?"
At the same moment, a handsome, red-haired gentleman approaches you. "I'll gladly ride up with you."
