You quickly move from window to window down the street looking for someone, anyone you can help. Most homes appear empty at first glance and the ones that aren't have nobody in trouble. You feel your final two minutes counting down.
A loud screech of tires on asphalt draws your attention away from the nearest house and to the car that swerved onto the street, blazing down the road at an obscene speed. Your eyes follow its path straight to a little girl who has crouched in the middle of the street to look at something on the ground. She seems completely unaware of her impending doom.
A final moment of redemption which you cannot tell if it is a blessing or a cruel joke.
